My daughter lacked the confidence she needed to succeed in math. It was a source of frustration for her and it was difficult to get her to spend extra time working on math at home. Once she started going to Mathnasium she immediately started feeling more confident and realized she was perfectly capable of understanding math. The built in small successes helped encourage her to learn more and to move forward and she actually enjoyed going. The tutors at Mathnasium have helped her understand concepts she is learning in school so that she is not just comfortable but solid. She considers Mathnasium a tool she can use when she needs extra help with a topic and when she is preparing for an exam. It is a service we could not possibly duplicate at home. I asked her once what she liked best about Mathnasium an she said the people. She has been going for over a year now and has worked with many different tutors. She likes them all and I can see how great they all are with the kids when I go in to pick her up. It's a friendly and comfortable environment and an amazing tool for me too!
My daughter, who loathes math, has never once complained about going to the center. I understand the value of not moving forward until a child has mastered a concept. Switching up the topics and such, makes her less aware of her slow progress. Because I know my daughter I also know that when she feels defeated, all learning stops. A particular bonus for her is that the frequently staff plays chess with her after her session is completed. We all know the value of chess and I'm glad she feels safe enough there to play with somebody other than her family. I am also glad you are not appeasing her and letting her win when she has not earned it.

We have been very pleased with Mathnasium for the past two years. Stacy was an excellent Manager and Crystal is amazing, too. The staff is friendly and makes learning fun. Our daughter looks forward to her weekly visit… she thinks it's a really cool "math camp"…what more can you ask for? PS Her peers compliment her on her math skills!

Upon entering Mathnasium, we are usually greeted by the smiling manager, Crystal, who is always upbeat. It's a wonderful way to start the session. My daughter loves working with Kyle. He challenges her while maintaining a level of respect and positive ness.
