Jonathon provides lessons that have significantly improved my son Jackson's drumming skills. Jonathon's skill, professionalism, and friendly nature make the lessons enjoyable and productive. His ability to convey complex concepts in a way that is understandable and his encouragement have boosted Jackson's confidence. Moreover, he exposes Jackson to different drumming styles. Jackson eagerly awaits each lesson, and we highly recommend this teacher to others.
My son is autisitic and started with School of Rock years ago. He is a talented musician, and connects through music more than conversation. He picks up on concepts, but can't describe them, so it takes some adaptation on the part of the instructors to work with him. He has grown and matured as a performer and a person, through the kindness and commitment of the staff. Now he can step into any musical setting and hold his own, and has recently started to sing, in addition to keys - having the confidence to take the stage and front the band. We have done 6 shows with SOR Burbank, and will be moving to Portland, OR, where we look forward to joining that SOR family.
Great teachers, great flexibility for make-up classes. Only thing I wish they had was an easier way to communicate directly with the teachers online.

Very well with teaching kids
The method of teaching that inspires my son to want to play and not have to remind him to practice. Updates from the instructors are great and keep us involved in his learning and how he is progressing.

The playing as a band aspect.
The Burbank School of Rock community is warm, inviting and enthusiastic! We are so appreciative of the wonderful talented teachers and friendliness of the front office staff. After the pandemic it has become a safe and comfortable space for my kids to learn and to take the stage! My boys love joining the different camps with their friends and having the opportunity to perform for the families on the last day.
My daughter started off playing the electric guitar. A teacher had her sing along one day during a lesson. He told me that some day she wouldn't be able to stop singing and that he wanted to be her coach when she discovered her skill. It wasn't too long afterwards that she added vocal lessons. Thanks to the wonderful inspirational coaching and excitement of being part of a Rock 101 band, my daughter says that she has found her passion. This means everything to me.

Good, nice and fun teachers, flexibility and not too much pressure on the students. This makes for a great relaxing musical activity for kids that are under pressure at school and at other extra curricular activities in our very competitive environment.
We love the group performance approach coupled with private lessons. Our kids are learning about the music they’re playing, they’re learning how to play it, and they’re learning how to play and work collaboratively with their peers. Most importantly, they love it!
The teachers are professional experts with a positive attitude and care for the kids! My daughter has been taking lessons and performing since the 4 th grade, as a freshman in high school now she is an amazing guitar player thanks to this program and her amazing teachers!
My 13 year old daughter has been playing guitar since she was six, but it was only after joining a band at SoR that she became obsessed with playing her instrument. She loves her band directors and is having the time of her life!
The staff is very committed to ensuring each child knows all instruments while making the necessary accomodations with larger Rock 101 groups. The private lessons are also very fun and the instructors take their time to learn each child's individual need and learning style. All my kids enjoy and look forward to their lessons.
