I love how you mentor students and challenge them to do their best. I have truly enjoyed watched the students grow their skills and confidence from one season to the next. Their progress is amazing. I feel the skills, attention to detail, teamwork and work ethic learned at SOR will prepare these students to succeed and stand out later in life.

I love it that the kids are learning music and teamwork and how to be comfortable in front of a crowd.

I love it that they get to play cool venues.

I love the staff. The programs are great. I love it that the teachers are working musicians. My kids have made friends and gained skills and confidence.

I have (many, many times) and will continue to recommend School of Rock (Vienna, in particular, but I’ve also recommended it to parents and kids in Florida, Pennsylvania, California and Georgia) to anyone who asks me about it.

I love that students learn different types of rock music. I also think the whole program is they play to prepare for a show and then perform. I love this and think it makes learning more fun and rewarding.

The teachers! The autonomy given to the kids to pick what they want to learn. The location.

I love the open communication between instructors and the parents.

I love the prompt updates about the lessons post class.

Gia, Peanut and Jamie are always welcoming and polite to my kid.

Student quotes:

“Jamie is very helpful when I am struggling”

“Peanut is very serious about learning things, and I learn a lot from him”

“Gia is very nice”

Approaches music from a more "modern" perspective, which appeals to my child (who dreams of being a pop star). Makes music lessons "cool." Also, quickly initiates kid into a "cooperative" way of looking at music ... the band must work together!

Confessions of a ‘ momager’

This program provides a unique forum for children (and adults) to progress or just fine tune their musicianship at their pace - not ours. I learned to stop stressing my son out pushing him to try, to be, to do - I know realize he has his own journey here even though I had goals for him to work on, he has his own! I can now respect that, relax and enjoy. SOR, I highly recommend this / It’s a safe place to explore creatively all aspects of learning to play, perform and work with others. ( and it’s a great distraction with a supportive environment for momagers in remission).

As an adult student, I look forward to setting & exploring goals with the staff. I also like the supportive environment among families & staff. I can safely share insight and discuss my son’s or my goals or challenges to help keep us moving forward. I’ve always found a supportive ear and solutions and things we need to work on to continue this journey.

Despite our personalized goals and paths, I’m grateful for the assistance and patience of the staff along the way to make sure my son and I remain on track to meet our own goals. Never was this more evident than with challenging our son to get involved and find an outlet (that had a team type atmosphere).

Our son never had much of an interest in team athletics, music was suggested to us as an alternative. When our son gave SOR a try he explored at his level of comfort and pace without any pressure and with the right amount of direction to challenge him. We always hoped he want to get involved in the performance program. Despite trying to push him forward, we eventually realized in time, he’d find his way on his own. We (and I mean I mostly) secretly worried and shared my concerns about his solitatary nature and lack of interest in being involved and making contributions to the team or relating to others with his highly selective nature and interests...but as we talk with his teachers, we realize more about our son and that he loves his lessons and has enjoyed each teacher who brought different perspectives, styles and instilled a supportive atmosphere with his goals in mind.

We believe his time with his teachers along with being exposed to new bands, songs, and the interests of others are also of great benefit. We’ve always known Hunter to be very independent, selective and focused but as each seasons progresses, we are just ectstatic to hear about his new favorite bands or songs including those that his peers are playing. We believe this program helps to open his mind to other influences, opinions and gives him a forum of similarly’ minded creative peers. Knowing he isn’t any different than his peers has given him the courage to be an individual.

To recap, we love it here and are grateful for these teachers in our lives.

What's awesome about the School of Rock program is how much confidence the kids gain from learning their song parts and playing them along with a group. Eventually, the music part becomes second nature and they actually start to perform, versus just playing the songs. Watching that evolution is pretty amazing sometimes.

I love that the instructors start out immediately teaching the kids songs they recognize, not drills, not nursery rhymes or other silly tunes. The kids get excited about being able to play songs they hear on the radio. I also like that they teach kids to appreciate a variety of music, from various time periods, artists & genres. My daughter had learned Elvis, Journey, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, Cold Play. She loves it!

I love how patient and knowledgeable and enthusiastic my daughter's teacher, Joey, is. She gets to play and learn about multiple instruments and loves every minute of her class. Yesterday she asked she be signed up for the rest of her life!

So very kid friendly, yet they treat the kids like REAL musicians. My child comes home able to play songs he can listen to on the radio. How cool is that!!

The staff -- great orientation to the program. I like the idea of individual lessons + practice with a group.
