My son has been attending SoR San Mateo Performance Program for about 6 months now, and his time there has been consistently positive. I'm delighted to have found the school because I wanted him to connect with other kids who share his interest. His guitar lessons and band practice sessions have significantly enhanced his guitar skills. The performances at the end of the season has been enjoyable for him and for us, parents, too. Also, the staff/coordinators are approachable and quick to respond to questions or concerns.
I like the fact that the teachers are all understanding, encouraging, caring and shows all kinds of enthusiasm towards the students as a sign of we could do it. From my very own personal point of view, I think that School of Rock is cool and totally an awesome place for those who are interested and for those who would like to find another avenue to go to play all types of genre of music. Go School of Rock!!!!!
My son really enjoys taking classes with Professor Dominic. We feel very well within the school of Rock San Mateo.
I like that the kids have an opportunity to learn and play other instruments during the performances.

I love that there are live performances and a wide range of music styles, but I would recommend more communication from the instructors/teachers student's parents to give them an idea of their child's progress. Even occasional notes updates would be nice. Additionally, having groups that are a a little more suited for those on the young side to be paired with peers closer in age would be awesome. The younger ones can get intimidated by their more mature bandmates. TIA~!

Grant is a great teacher. I never feel pressure and he makes sure that I feel engaged and interested by asking me what I would like to learn. He also asks if there are any songs in paticular that I'd like to learn as well! I look forward to every lesson.
Russ also made me feel welcome the first day and is very fun to talk to. The staff is always very kind and welcoming. Its also enjoyable to see the children learning music and they always seem excited to be at School Of Rock

All of the instructors are great and my daughter is learning so much about singing in her vocal lessons! She’s also blossomed with a lot of confidence getting up on stage in front of so many people and singing. Definitely recommending SOR to anyone I talk to you about putting their kid(s) into some kind of musical program

The teachers and staff are professional, but laid back, they allow the children to explore instruments outside of their primary instrument. We are huge fans of School of Rock!
The big positive is that SOR creates a really safe place for our son to perform and keep growing with his music skills. The staff are really supportive and have a wonderful nurturing approach to guiding the students.
