Customer Testimonials
My instructor James Cabeke. He is terrific, He is both a very talented musician as well as an excellent instructor. I also like that he is a bass player. Most places you get a guitar player who knows a little bit about the bass. Also, the opportunity in the future to play with other musicians.
I love the teachers and the staff. They care so much about the students and teaching them how to rock. School of Rock has become family and an experience we all enjoy.
If I had two bits of feedback it would be, first, I wish songs were chosen with the student and their range in mind. It feels as though songs are first chosen with the instruments in mind and the singers second. That tends to lead to songs that are not in their range and not focusing on their talents. Secondly, it would be great if the Scottsdale students were more considered when it comes to Sugar Skulls. All the rehearsals and many of the gigs are in the Gilbert\Mesa area. With many kids in the Scottsdale area, it would be nice if rehearsals were at both studios and more considered when choosing gigs, if they aren't already. Thank You!
The teachers are fantastic and so positive.
We love Katie!!!
The programs are well designed - the combination of individual lessons, group collaboration and positive community crest’s accountability, fosters accomplishment and more than anything is fun and inclusive.
We also love the people who work at SoR. They’re amazing- from the GM, instructors and musical director to the admin staff.
It’s a pleasure to be part of this community.
The program at the School of Rock is phenomenal. For students looking to play quickly, it's structured to be hands-on and motivational. My son went from zero guitar experience to knowing multiple songs rapidly. Their program is designed for both kids who want to perform and kids who just want to take really excellent lessons from working musicians.
They are performance based, which gives children the opportunity to play music with others and for an audience.
1.) Ability to play with other people and learn and grow as a musician
a.) Where else can I show up and everything is already set-up and just start to play? If I got together with friends, It would take 15 minutes to set-up and 15 minutes to take down.
b.) Where else at my ability level would I get the opportunity to play on a stage in front of a crowd?
c.) I learn and grow from people more experienced than me.
Everyone is super friendly and the curriculum is so fun for my 8 year-old! My son has ADHD and has a hard time following instruction, but the teachers here make it so fun that he doesn't even realize he's in a learning environment!
Choices and fun
School of Rock is amazing. My kids love the shows, lessons, teachers/directors, and community. I love how everyone is inspiring my kids to grow as musicians, and also as humans. My kids get frequent and thoughtful feedback which keeps them motivated and builds a healthy growth mindset! I am in awe of how the different aged kids support and respect each other.
School of rock is amazing. Michelle does an amazing job creating a nurturing environment where everyone feels welcome. You can really tell that her and her staff have a passion for music and sharing what they know with their students. My kids really enjoy going to lessons and practice, and rush home after lessons to practice. And the mid season and end of season performances are amazing, and such a great way to continue growing these young musicians.
Fun and helpful
We love it
The people working there. The instructors. The flexibility with lesson times to fit a busy schedule.
My kiddo is learning an incredible amount of music and is excited every day about the next skill. He's surrounded by students and teachers passionate about their craft. Practicing in order to perform rad songs in front of an audience at a cool venue is super fun and motivating. I could not recommend this program enough!
Inspiring kids to get out of their comfort zones and learn how to perform with a band.
Instructors are invested and take the time to understand goals, get to know students, and find effective teaching methods for students of all ages.
I like how they are catered towards the child's taste in music and needs.
My kid loves going to lessons here. The instructor is engaging and talks to her like a friend. It’s a fun place to learn music for her.
They are fun, exciting & inclusive.
Amazing staff and teachers. Program designed to teach you how to actually play a song and work with a group….
Highly recommend 🙌
Great program.
We love that for our sons drum lessons the teacher and my son both have their own drum set to play on during the lesson. It is super helpful. We also love the option to be in performance lessons with a band.
The lasting impact it has on the kids.
School of Rock Scottsdale is fantastic and Michelle and her team are the best! My kids have grown and developed both their musical skills as well as their understanding of theory. They’ve also become extremely confident playing in front of large and small crowds. I recommend the program to every parent I meet.
My 16 year old son enjoys participating in his weekly guitar lesson and interacting with his mentor instructor. I believe it is money well spent!
I love everything about the program!
The instructors seem to be passionate about the music and teaching the kids!
Very well organized and amazing shows put on!
My daughter, London, has found her thing and truly is so happy!!
She started in October and will be a part of this community until she graduates high school!!
It’s like team sports for a kid who isn’t into sports. There is a great deal of team collaboration, responsibility to the group and you have to hit your marks.
The other aspect is the people who work with our kids, show runners, teachers, the music director, the GM and the staff he has attracted to assist - amazing and gifted people.
Of course, the material is of great interest to the kids and there is the cool factor.
What a great experience.
Good vibes and the people! My son has been there for the last 8 years and has learned so much about music, show production and performance. At School of Rock, everyone get a chance to shine.
