Student Testimonials
Great instructors!! Bonnie was fabulous on Sunday and it was my first class in years...Thank You Bonnie 😊
Conveniently timed classes very good instructors, particularly Sandr G
I *love* the NW location at Corepower! Is there any chance you could add a 6pm class to the schedule? I leave work at 5pm in SW, and I can never guarantee that I'd make it anywhere by the 5:30pm class in NW or the 5:15pm class in SE. I always find myself wishing there was a 6pm class- I'd go to yoga after work a lot more often if I didn't have to wait to take the 7pm in NW or the 6:30pm in SE!
A - Availability of classes in time, flavor and location.
B - No surprises (good quality) starting from front desk, to instructions, washrooms, lighting, heat, sound etc.
C - Washrooms are very nice and large enough to accommodate many (for the mens I can attest). Also cleanliness and sanitation seems to be a priority
Putting A, B, C together, it is like a good quality McDonald's that is good for one's mind and body.
Finally, very warm and friendly people!
I like the frequency of classes and quality of instructors. I also appreciate the clean and tidy facilities.
I've used my membership at several CorePower studios across the US and consistently get a great, inspiring workout by taking Yoga Sculpt. Portland has some of the most talented and creative teachers--with an extra shout-out to the extraordinary Jessica Starr. Jessica always brings creative sequencing; uplifting, motivating music; inspiring, thoughtful intentions; and she knows how to "read" her class and challenge them without depleting them. She is a true gem.
The only feedback I have at this time is that I try to avoid classes where I know that low-energy, repetitive music is played in class. I find it a real struggle to mobilize internal strength and motivation when I can't "use" the music. Songs that are awesome in other contexts (e.g., rap, repetitive club music) don't work in a YS environment, where people need to draw on their internal strength, the strength of the group, and the energy of the music to push themselves to new heights.
I adore CorePower and especially the Portland studios. I am very glad you all are a part of my life!
Established yoga instructors:
Sarah K., Jonie, Colin, Amy, Jeremy, Charissa --- all of these instructors are still really bringing their A-game. New instructors should strive to be as articulate, engaging, friendly, and authentic.
Studio management is effective and efficient.
Molly D. has clearly been nailing it as an area/regional manager.
I think I mention this in every feedback survey--- that watercooler (and the milk crate that it is resting on) is an eyesore, and it's in a very odd location that causes congestion from studios to locker rooms.
Retail clothing: Men's tshirt that reads "Real Men Do Yoga"... it's 2018, with a lot of people who have very strong opinions on gender equality. I would've expected more thoughtfulness from such a progressive company.
Love this location snd staff! My only suggestion would be its a little ripe smelling. Not sure what could be done , just wanted you to know
Everyone is so supportive and nice all the time. I always have an awesome work out.
Location(s), the instructors, class availability & diversity, music, hands-on help from instructors, membership option.
I like the selection of products for sale, incase I ever show up and need a pair of yoga pants-there are plenty of great brands to choose from. The service at CPY is outstanding. ALways a friendly smile to greet you and common needs are supplied for your use such as hair ties and blow dryer, deoderant spray, etc... all happily there for your use.
So many classes to choose from! Also the staff is friendly and warm!
I love the way I feel afterwards. I will cleansed and balanced. I wish it was more affordable for drop in sessions.
Great classes
great teachers
I absolutely love the people and the classes! I feel happy and young again!
Great instructors, great facility, love the merchandise. This is one the most enjoyable, tranquil spa like yoga experiences in the city. I love this place!
Excellent teachers, class schedule and clean facility.
I have to send a review about this amazing teacher: Cindy Ch teaches the Wednesday evening class 8:15-9:15, C2. Her classes are light-hearted, and have well-designed structure, that flow beautifully from simple sequence into deepening master postures. The succinct-ness of her ques keep good timing for breathe and movement, and there is clearly a strong understanding of anatomy that helps us practitioners gain new insight and connections of mind/body within the postures we are practicing. Her work-to-rest ratio for the class is always good, both the strength and flexibility of the class are always well-balanced, but also flowing into some unique and amazing restorative postures, which allows the body to recover and move to new depths of flexibility and restoration. A practice led by Cindy always has a walk-away of a smile on my face, my mind/body connection and understanding of postures is increased, and I feel mentally and physically rejuvenated.
I wish she taught a few more classes, as my schedule had changed and does not currently allow for me to attend the time slot of Wednesday evenings; she is an instructor I would seek out to attend her class if she were on the schedule more!
I can see her classes readily gaining a following, of practitioners who appreciate a light-spirited class, with good depth of anatomy and well structured seqencing of postures...and with our light-hearts we will learn to fly!
I want like to provide feedback about a recent instructor, Marisole (I am not sure how to spell the name and she does not show up on the schedule). She subbed the C2 class I took on 4/8 at 10am, my husband just got home from a C2 she subbed today, 4/10 at 5:30pm (he unknowly went as the schedule was not updated). My husband came home and confirmed my thoughts after the class. The class felt like a C1, the heat wasn't on, I watched as the temperature kept dropping during class. She also forgot the name of several poses and during a sequence of "one breath one movement" the pace was not quick enough. I barely broke a sweat in the class and my husband noted his heart rate never even went above 100 (he wears the apple watch). I have never complained and have been a member at CP several years. This was the first time I felt really disappointed after a class. I feel like she would be an appropriate C1 instructor.
I would like to say I LOVE the classes the following instructors provide- Rachel B, Sarah K, Alex Ko, Jonie, Collin, Molly, Katya, Lisa Cl and Jayme F.
Lots of great classes to attend, and all day long. My schedule varies; I can almost always find a good class to make it to sometime during the day. Often times, class is the best part of my day.
Tailored yoga class for all levels
Love the people and sense of community.
LOVE ALL OF IT! It is super expensive.. but I love how the classes make me feel!
great workout, lots of classes continuously throughout day, nice community
I appreciate how uplifting and grounding class is. Instructors always share personal reflections that bring me back to connection and center. If it's a sculpt class I attend, I know my body and mind will be challenged. If it is a gentler class, I leave with greater serenity and gratitude.
Thank you so much!
I have been going a long time. Saw the studio open in 2001
Everyone is so nice and accepting even when I came in with no yoga knowledge and had no idea what to do
I took a class led by Lisa and it was awesome. It was my first time trying hot yoga and my first time at CorePower. I will definitely be back and referring friends.

Jonie is fantastic!!!
