The only disappointment I have is there are not enough opportunities to play tennis, which is why I chose Genesis instead of another gym. The courts are usually full with lessons but also recently with pickleball. The courts were made and advertised for tennis so I feel tennis players should have the opportunity to use them.
The plusses about Genesis are the staff. Specifically the front desk staff, who are so friendly and helpful, and also Fungai and Kerry, the tennis pros.
Weight machines need some work. Handle grips missing or out of place on several machines.
The pool water is too hot in the summer and we need showers. I can tolerate 84 to 85 degree water if the air is not too hot, but anything above 85 makes it hard (and dangerous) to swim laps. I am 65 years old, so it's not just young people who find the water too hot. The water quality has been better for a few months now, but sometimes the chemicals are too strong. I had to buy 4 new (chlorine resistant) bathing suits this summer. On the plus side: I really like Kim at the front desk.
The locker rooms are terrible. Carpet is dirty. Half the showers don't work. The Glass RB court Floor is warped from Roof leaking. You've just upgraded 84th and Q, now it's time to do 132nd and Center.
The variety of classes is excellent. The professionalism of my personal trainer is admirable.
Genesis offers classes and good gym equipment for the exercises I need to get accomplished on a weekly basis.
I really apprecieate the work that has been done to introduce floor fans to help workout on the cardio equipment. However, I have been surprised by the number of broken machines, broken fans, and the temperature at the gym being in the upper 80s makes it difficult to work out.
Friendly staff!!
I have never been one for exercise, but the ladies that teach the Pilates Reformer classes are awesome! I highly recommend anyone who wants to build strength and flexibility to attend these classes, especially if you have had knee, back, hip or any other surgeries. I feel that this is something that I can do well into my years to stay strong.
Cleaner water in the hot tub but nothing really
I prefer the Westroads club.
There has been no hand soap in the men’s locker room for 5 weeks.
The steam room is often dirty. It is rather unpleasant and needs to be cleaned more often.
Poor customer service
Cleaning issues: windows in pool area, grout has grime in women's locker rooms, (otherwise the day to day cleaning is fine)
Repairs: women's swim suit spinner "gone for repair" way too many months, removed massage chairs rather than replace
Classes: too advanced for my level of fitness and range of potential (I can hike 8-10 miles, bike 25miles but there is no low level classes outside of those during business hours that I can attend except perhaps 1 yoga class & Zumba class that I have yet to get to due to a scheduling conflict)
Lots of things are good: friendly helpful staff, nice facility with a variety of options
Would love a drop in volleyball time some evening
The trainers are very personable and willing to help however fits your schedule with the goal to help you succeed. There are numerous classes to attend and also a variety cardio machines to use. It is clean and not intimidating in appearance.
Locker rooms are routinely dirty
Lots of equipment and the staff seems nice.
-Easy and accessible
-big gym and lots of equipment
great classes and instructors
You charged me your enhance annual feee 3 months after I joined . It should have been 1 year .
Wide Variety of equipment and enough for the large number of people that are always in.
The weight room has lots to offer, the facility is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly. Only (small) complaint is there are times where no towels are available upstairs in the weight room. Otherwise great experience at Genesis.
I love how clean it is and I also love how it never feels too busy like some other gyms.
The facility seems to be going downhill. When a machine breaks, it takes weeks if not months to fix, and the facility itself could use a facelift. However, the staff is super nice and helpful.
Early opening on weekends!
Honesty it’s just the traffic over there is my main complaint
As such a premiumly priced gym and in the heart of Kansas city, I'd expect this gym to be open until midnight. Especially considering this is one of the higher tiered gym packages you have.
The multiple locations in Omaha and Lincoln, the different types of machines available, and a good selection of weights.
I've reported the decline bench press needing attention three times, and nothing has been done.
I pay extra to take Pilates reformer and you have not had air conditioning the whole summer. Not to mention, I take another Pilates class and there is no air conditioning in that room as well. How can I recommend a gym that has no air conditioning? Exactly. I can't.
