JCC serves the entire community - the young through the elderly; people of all faiths and ethnicity with a wide variety of activities from physical fitness of the body to mental fitness of the person.

My real concern is whether or not the JCC can manage the economics and maintenance of the expanded facilities. Especially based on two recent incidents and the manner by which they have been handled. The two examples:

I was going up the stairwell from the lower to upper fitness area when the lights in the stairwell went out. I use a cane and would have been seriously injured if I fell. I notified Leslie of this incident, however she was out of town and I received a response 4 days latter from David ay Leslie's request. He said jokingly "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time" The emergency generator was being tested and it failed. All stairwells in public buildings should have automated battery operated emergency lighting and preferably emergency generator backup since depending on the generator type and switching mechanism there can be a delay in the generator providing power.

The second case deals with the water fountain in the lower fitness area. It was making unusual sounds for about four weeks until it was removed about three weeks ago. As of today it has not been replaced nor has a substitute water source been provided.

On-going-maintenance and a proactive maintenance program are critical to the effective functioning of the JCC - in my opinion it does not have one now and unless this is corrected the expanded JCC will have even more problems. The individual responsible for maintenance must routinely move throughout the facility, especially as complex as the JCC -maintenance can not be run from an office!

Please provide copies of this response to the President of the JCC, Leslie, David and Eke. A response is expected. Thank you.

What do you like about our services?

PAC is pretty much open whenever we need to go work-out. Plus, our kids like going there, as opposed to when we belonged to Franco's. We're very happy at PAC, and love all the machines available and weight room for our use. It's also convenient, as it's 10 minutes from our home.

The environment is very conducive to attaining fitness goals. When I joined, I was overweight, had uber high blood pressure among other health problems. Sky made it possible for me to go from an overweight exhausted nearly dead guy to someone who is healthy with energy and strength.
