Food and service
The staff always offers help with menu, always clean, and the atmosphere is perfect
I always enjoy South City Kitchen, its one of my regular spots for good food. I've brought many friends, family and coworkers to share a great meal. Fried chicken is the best I've found.
We love this restaurant. Great food and ambiance.

Excellent service and food
First, you're close. Second, you're one of the few finer, yet approachable dining restaurants in our area. The southern ethos is nice to share with out-of-towners. The service has always been superb and the food served in this latest visit only reinforced our confidence in your experience.
My wife and I love livers yet find them problematic away from home. We each ordered your liver appetizer "underdone" (pink in the middle) and, to our delight, so they were. Absolutely creamy and luscious!
My wife's pork chop was cooked perfectly and moist, the sauteed, chopped kale a perfect compliment. Each ingredient of my shrimp and grits were cooked to perfection and served with a generous layer of geechie boy taso gravy. I completely forgot about asking for siracha (save that and butter for breakfast grits).
I eschewed dessert but couldn't resist my wife's pound cake under ice cream and a grilled peach. We were asked our opinion about this new dessert and offered that it would benefit from a little more sauce to soak the pound cake. Presto! The sauce appeared on the table. It spiked the pound cake and I even drank the last little bit as a unique cordial.
The surroundings are elegant but not offputting, the service beyond improvement, the food delicious, they cater to requests, and parking is free. What more could you want?
If I had one complaint, it would be that it can be quite noisy. Perhaps a lack of soft goods in the decor?
There’s nothing not to like
Atmosphere and friendly staff. Shannon is a great bartender! Hope she stays a long time!
