Format of practice and game sessions is great. (Large group warm up then break out into their teams.) Each i9 staff member is very nice. I9 does a great job communicating to families and it is well structured all around.
I really enjoy the basketball league for the older kids. Ages 7+ seem to really benefit from the structure, even if they have never played basketball before. This program is less competitive than some other local leagues, which takes the pressure off and gives kids an opportunity to try a new sport. The current parent coaches for the 8-9 year old group at AACS are all AMAZING. Every single coach is engaged, amazing with their team, motivating the kids, including everyone. This group kit the jackpot with parent coaches this season.
I also have a younger child in the 4-5 year old league. I was disappointed in the last session and hope the rest of the season can be better. With a start time of 2:00pm, the i9 staff did not arrive until 2:05. Many families arrive 5-10 minutes early, so confusion was starting to kick in since there were no basketballs available until staff arrived. Even at 2:05, they had to bring in equipment, set up the adjustments on all goals, and get prepared for the session.
Further, both parent coaches for my child's team were no-shows that day. It appears i9 staff were unaware of this, and a parent from the bleachers had to volunteer to coach the session.
I love the easy going approach to install the basic fundamentals of basketball with the younger kids. My son participates in the preschool level, and everyone is so kind as well as understanding to the fact it is 4-5 years who are introductory to the sport.
Outstanding training and leadership from Jordan Carr and his entire team at each session. They're the reason each week is successful for the kids. Thank you!
This season has been the best because of Coach Graham Whaples! He communicates regularly and is great with the kids. This is our 4th time w/ i9 and this time it feels like a real basketball team. Which is very hard to find for my 11-year-old daughter.
My son is having a great time learning how to dribble, shoot, crossovers, passing. It was just what he needed. The coaches and staff are friendly and good at giving confidence.
I like the opportunity for my child to learn the sport without the pressure of competition. I watched her confidence grow with each lesson, and she was able to enjoy the small scrimmage at the very end of the sessions. Thank you!
Like all in one day but don’t like the officials because they are young adults who are on their phones and have headphones in. The volunteer coaches are officiating the games
Very organize and great communication with the parents. The coaches have been very positive and encouraging to the kids. Our son has really enjoyed his time on the team!
