I was initially worried that my son would not be receptive to the additional "schoolwork" and would eventually ask to stop getting the help he needed but after almost 3 months, he still looks forward to his Mathnasium appointments. Clay and Sheri make the lessons fun and engaging and I think the prizes my son feels he is earning serves as a constant incentive to keep pushing forward.
My son has been a student at Mathnasium for one-year and the difference in his math skills is definately noticable. Throughout 4th grade, his progress reports and report cards showed declining scores in math, resulting in his math assessment we below grade level at the end of the school year. After 8 months with Mathnasium, his 5th grade teacher showed that his skills improved over the summer, when normally students show a slight decrease. His most recent progress report continues to show even more improvement, with him now performing math at the level he should be at.
