From the moment my kids were little, I firmly believed they needed to know how to swim. For fun, yes, but more importantly, so they could save their lives if they fell in or something else. The team at the Eastside Y has not only taught my kids to swim but also taught them safety skills along the way, from life jackets to rescuing a friend to screaming for help when needed. While my kids likely won’t become competitive swimmers, the life skills they have learned with their instructors are priceless. I am beyond grateful for the aquatics team at the Eastside Y.
My daughter had swim lessons, the aquatic director and her staff Mr Malcom are amazing.
Our granddaughter was not doing well with her previous group swim lessons for a couple of reasons, so we decided to try private lessons. We were so fortunate that Brandie was available. She is an excellent teacher and knows how to make the lessons fun for a young child, while getting her to perform at her best. First name removed looks forward to her lessons and loves her coach. Brandie has done wonders with First name removed and we are grateful.
Miss Devon is the best swim instructor! Always explains things well so parents understand how and why we do the exercises we do. She’s always smiling, fun and positive. We’ve been going to swim lessons with her for over a year and we love it each and every time.
The staff is friendly and helpful in answering any questions I have.
I enjoy interacting with other members, especially in the warm pool at the Y. I enjoy the facilities. I enjoy interacting with the staff for the most part. They’re all great people. I enjoy watching all the other members have a good time the wise a great place for people take care of their bodies and their minds. I would recommend the YMCA to everyone. The Y has helped me expand my mind and certainly helped my aging body go YMCA.

I am 83 yrs old and the only exercise I get is at the Y -- 2 or 3 times per week. I exercise in the gym on 2 different machines, and then I exercise in the pool for about an hour. I am accompanied by a friend who drives me around town, and we totally enjoy seeing new friends in the pool each time we go. The Y is such a blessing!

Rowan has a great time and gets super excited whenever we tell him it’s swim day
