Member Testimonials
I like the friendly people who go there, the large pool, the hours and the aquatic director.
Cool and complete facility. Nice people. Nice vibe.
The YMCA is great, easy to use and go to the classes
Great instructors Jackie, Amy, Tia , Elias , Teresa and Stephanie . Also trainers Jen and Hallie. The YMCA young staff are great. Also Quincy great life guard.
I enjoyed all the amenities and the staff are all so friendly. I also like that it's quiet.
I went to the YMCA as a kid and it makes me happy to still be able to go now as an adult. The staff is plenty helpful. I usually only go once a week to use the weight room. It’s never too crowded or too noisy. Just enough space, with just enough people. Thank you for still serving the community
I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the indoor pool, as well as YMCA 360 and access to other local YMCA locations.
The gym and the heated pool
Hallie is my trainer and she's fantastic. She's the reason why I attend.
I enjoy the aerobics swim classes. The instructors.are all great people who are very nice and friendly and knowledgeable about their classes and about us.
I like the group fitness classes, especially those appropriate for aging adults.
The staff is very friendly.
Group fitness activities have good teachers, and motivate me to get more active!
It’s never really that crowded. Pool access is huge. The weights in the weight room are pretty much everything I need. Lots of programs to take advantage of!
Yoga with Amy is the best and her other classes are the so helpful in keeping a healthy lifestyle.
There are other classes that are helpful to maintaining a exercise routine and the workout room is nice and cool. There is something for everyone.
Lots of fun group exercise classes! Plenty of workout equipment. Nice well ventilated indoor pool. I like that the Central
YMCA is convenient and affordable.
I love the community feel of the YMCA and the wonderful group classes at the Sac W Street location (especially Tia & Lilly's classes). The instructors are great! I've also had my kids in the swim lessons with good experiences. I like that it's affordable and accessible.
I play Pickleball. I really appreciate all the improvements that have been made for this sport.
Lap swim is enjoyable except when sharing with a guy. He takes over the lane . I wish he would stay on his side
My experiences center around the pool. Its a great facility and feel like a lot of options.
My concerns are around pool management - like the Capitol location - has no amenities on the pool deck - no benches or places to put swim bags, etc. Other Y's have a reservation process - and these do not.
There are also lane markers at W St that describe what activities take place in the lane - and then there is zero enforcement by the lifeguards. Is the expectation the guests enforce the Y rules? That would set up for conflict considering a guest doesn't have any authority to enforce rules - but the staff does.
I also have made attempts to contact people at both the Capitol and W St - and there isn't a clear way to contact, which I am finding frustrating.
Classes, instructors
Friendly. Wide array of activities.
A helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of hours open.
Not chaotic. I usually don't have a to wait for my machine
Use of the heated pool.
Good trainers and range of programs and equipment
Your amazing teachers! They are the glue that keeps us all going.
I'm a regular member at the superior Y who mostly uses the pool and cardio and weights - It was nice to have the Capital Y to go swim at while my main pool was down.
You're doing a great job!
thank you

The people are friendly. The activity choices are diverse.

Over the past two years I have found that the people ( members and staff) at the Y are very friendly and welcoming. I especially enjoy instructors Ron and Tia. They both are welcoming and knowledgable. I appreciate that there are a variety of classes in the morning. Y membership has been a wonderful benefit take advantage of in retirement.
