Our kids (7 and 9 years old) have been going to Mathnasium Brentwood for almost 5 months now (they started in September when it first opened in Brentwood). Our experience has been nothing but positive so far.
The owner as well as the center director are both very easy to talk to and at least one of them is always present at the center ready to listen and answer any questions.
They create an individualized plan for each student based on the results of an 1-hour long free assessment.
The center is always clean, with good light and it is quiet, which makes it easier for kids to focus on their work.
Classes are Monday to Thursday afternoon and evening. You book your sessions online - you can cancel and/or reschedule anytime (completely hassle free, as long as there is space available).
Each student comes, clocks in, takes his/her binder and starts working on assignments in it.
Parents can leave the kids and come back in an hour or they can stay in the waiting area.
Classes are an hour long twice a week with an option to do one 2-hour class once a week.
There are young instructors helping the students when they need help understanding anything.
Every month you get your student's progress report, so you are aware of what they are working on and how well they are doing.
Students do not have any homework, they can actually bring their school homework (math) and if there is time at the end of the class, they can get it done there as well.
Price-wise it is comparable to other math tutoring services in the area.
This is the only class that our kids do not complain about going to.

I love the flexibility for the classes

We’re having a great experience with Mathnasium. My son was falling behind on math at his charter school math class and we needed a one on one approach. My son is more confident in his skills and is back in love with math.

Both our kids (attending 2nd and 4th grade in public school) started taking classes at Mathnasium Brentwood shortly after it opened in September 2023. Our experience so far has been very positive and we would recommend it to anyone looking into math tutoring for their kids.
Our experience:
- At the beginning they assessed our kids and prepared a customized plan.
- They check the students' progress regularly and send you a monthly report of how they are doing.
- The owners are easy to talk to, and accommodating if you need anything. I provided them with my kids' school math assessment results and asked to include that in the plan and they were happy to do it.
- The place is brand new - freshly painted, clean and always kept neat and well organized.
- The place is also calm and quiet (no loud talking going on), so students can focus on the work.
- There is also a waiting area for parents in case you want to stay there, but since it is in the Streets of Brentwood why not use the hour (or two) to look around the Streets while kiddos learn.
- You book your classes online which is very convenient if you need to reschedule and/or cancel.
