The store at Glen Ellyn is great. The managers and supervisors are truly great at what they do. Ryan the store manager especially. He brings a great culture to the store. At one point there were no managers working here before Ryan became the manager. The store was a complete wreck, and I was close to leaving. But with the culture he brought to the store. And with bringing in new people to make the store better, I couldn't ask for a better job to be at. All the customers and workers seem so much happier with the management that's been here for almost 2 years now.

Seeing and interacting with the pets is one of the best parts of the job! They provide an automatic ice breaker to start a conversation with the pet parent and then a segue to further pet education about nutrition, supplements, etc. Those conversations have allowed many of us here to get to know our pet parents and we are on a first name basis with many of them. Trust plays a large role in our customer base and repeat visits.

in addition, the culture at the store is outstanding. We are definitely not perfect in any way, but we all do get along with each other and respect each other. That says a lot! We all come together with different strengths and weaknesses, and we learn from each other. We allow each to provide pet education in the areas of our strengths and collaborate when necessary.

We are truly a family, as much as that sounds like a cliche. We help each other here, and outside of work when and if needed. This is not just a place of employment, but a safe place for all of us to call "home". We come here for so much more than an employee/employer obligation.

My team is great! I feel very supported by my manager and team. I also enjoy the standards that are kept and held by the store. Not only in business, but also in the quality of work that we provide. Everyone here takes pride in their job/career and are happy to be working here, which is exactly how i feel. I love that anyone i ask is more than willing to help in anyway they can.

I enjoy my team above all else. The group that I have been able to assemble here is the embodiment of what a team is supposed to be. I could not be prouder of all that we have accomplished in the past year and 11 months. I also truly believe in the philosophies we carry as a company, and I strive to share our pillars with our customers as well. We lovingly call our group here the island of misfit toys, but we have truly found our place in the community here in Glen Ellyn. I would like to see advancement opportunities and plans to get our team members to those advancement opportunities in the future because there are some truly gifted people that work at this store and at others. I believe our culture as a company has surely taken a turn for the better. I have enjoyed growing alongside of the staff here in Glen Ellyn, and I am very hopeful for what the future will bring. Here we believe in a simple motto, and it goes as follows: Sustained success is largely a matter of focusing on the right things and making a lot of uncelebrated little improvements every day. I also believe how you do anything is how you do EVERYTHING and we are trying to be our best selves here.
