Great equipment great place and most importantly less prople
Three of our grandchildren did multiple weeks of Kindercamp and one did Camp Rising Sun several weeks. They also did another area camp, but they BY FAR preferred the Y camps. The counselors are enthusiastic from drop-off through pick up, the variety of activities is perfect for the age groups, and the kids just say it's lots of fun!

Routinely use pool and it’s the cleanest, coolest place to swim locally. The pool director and his staff do a great job for us lap swimmers.
hat do I like about my Taylor Family YMCA - Day Camp experience? Where do I begin! Our experience at Camp Rising Sun has been nothing short of extraordinary, and it's all thanks to the incredible team of counselors and directors who go above and beyond every day.
First and foremost, I must commend the directors, Julie and Libby. Their leadership is inspiring, and their dedication to creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for all the campers is evident in everything they do. They are approachable, caring, and always willing to listen to both parents and children, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued.
The staff at Camp Rising Sun is phenomenal. Susan, Koshish, AJ, Dom, and many others have made a significant positive impact on my son. Their enthusiasm, patience, and creativity are unmatched. They not only provide excellent supervision but also foster a sense of community and friendship among the campers. My son looks forward to camp every day, eager to see his favorite counselors and participate in the exciting activities they have planned.
Speaking of activities, the variety and quality of programs at Camp Rising Sun are outstanding. From sports and arts and crafts to science experiments and outdoor adventures, there is something for every child's interest. The counselors make each activity engaging and educational, helping the children to learn new skills and discover new passions.
One of the most remarkable aspects of our experience has been the personal growth I've seen in my son. The supportive and encouraging environment at camp has boosted his confidence, social skills, and independence. He comes home every day with stories of new friends, fun challenges, and memorable experiences.

The counselors are actively participating with my son. He is happy to go there. Previously, he didn't want to go to the other YMCA because he was bored. Not the case at this one.
Taylor stands out from other programs in the way that matters most- it's people. The staff are a well organized group who are empowered in their own unique ways to make the day to day fun and exciting for their campers. I love how there are a variety of activities where campers can level up as their skill sets improve throughout the summer. Counselors also create fun ways to keep the kids engaged with small games to earn counselor beads, spirit awards, highlight campers of the week and pie their favorite counselors. Their CILT program addresses the need for responsibility and fun for the older campers with field trips and group time outside of younger camper interaction. Taylor is absolutely unique and surpasses all other camps in our area, including other YMCA camps. The connection that counselors create with campers is exceptional, leaving a stamp on the heart that does not fade.
