one simple request would be if there could be some odor killers in the sauna / locker room area. maybe like an air filter or something that would mask the smell a bit. its particularly strong in the saunas.

My 10yr. old daughters first season of Girls basketball in at the CH-Carrboro YMCA has been top notch. The program is extremely well run and your level organization does not go unnoticed. I can imagine it takes a lot of coordination and communication to get the teams up and running while splitting and sharing playing and practice time between the CH-Carrboro Y and UNC-CH Woolen Gym. As a parent, it is super relieving knowing ahead of time where and when need to be. Thank you for making this winter season an awesome experience.

Just wanted to send some praise for Jonathan Washburn who runs the basketball program. He does a great job. Lots of communication, very responsive, and friendly in person. YMCA is lucky to have him.

I enjoy going to a class because it keeps me more motivated to exercise versus when I do it by myself. Although I do exercise on my own, I don't push myself as hard. It's good to have options.
The classes and instructers are terrific and take into account many fitness levels.
I enjoy going to the Y primarily for racquetball. The courts are in good condition but the floors are often dirty, making them slippery. You guys spent how many tens of thousand of dollars on new machines and equipment for the bodybuilders which is great but I've been asking for years for shelves or cubbies under the stairs so the racquetball players have somewhere to stow their gear rather than on the single bench leaving no place to sit or on the filthy floor. I don't understand why a hundred bucks for some storage shelves under the stairs isn't doable.
I do use the machines, mostly the rowing machines and the ellipticals. You had ONE elliptical machine that would go from side to side rather than forward and backward but when you got the new equipment that machine was taken out and not replaced. I really wish you would put something like it back in. It was so much better for you legs and hips than the machines you have now that just go forward and backward.
You guys asked. I wouldn't have vented otherwise. Just sayin.
The man that helped me at the desk on my first visit could not have been more helpful or nicer. The guards and pool manager were just as kidn and helpful. I already suggested to a friend that she visit the CH/Carborro Y ! I'll be back soon.
The people who work at the Y are fantastic! Super friendly, they greet people warmly and establish personal connections. The facility is well maintained. LOVE it!

I’ve been a member of the chapel hill Y since the early 1980’s. Both of my children learned how to swim there. I enjoy the pool and more recently the exercise classes.
