The entire staff at the YMCA Tacoma Center is kind and helpful. I appreciate the community outreach they do in Tacoma as well.

I love the YMCA, always have always will ~ it is clean, expansive, well equipped, friendly staff, a vital part of the community
Staff makes me feel comfortable there
Its friendly, cool and everything is accessible
The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have so many pieces of equipment, and several of the more popular machines and benches. Having to wait for something is a rarity. The place is super clean and there are cleaning wipes everywhere. So many different activities to choose from. I absolutely love it there and plan on talking some of the offered workout classes, and taking advantage of the pool. Highly recommend!
We are a strong community within the Hill Top area. Many of my friends are members at the YMCA T or other locations. My teens are at the UW YMCA all the time. And we just got our membership. Keep it up YMCA T - we love you already.
The pool.
Jenna completely takes the fear factor out of intimidating equipment, she focuses on form and is so helpful. Just overall awesome!
Intro into weight training has been so helpful in learning equipment and machines I feel much less intimidated
Weight training is personal and hands on though out. Jenna was great- hopeful to start designing an individualized plan (I know we will)
Jenna is so good and thorough explaining the weights
Lots of attentions to modification, small group was supportive of range of abilities and confidence
hoping for an intro to weight training PT. 2 class

Amanda does a good job teaching HIIT class, she is friendly and engaging,
Would like a large fan in the gym for HIIT class
friendly, helpful people
I like the ability to walk upstairs do free weights and machines for my body and steam room is awesome
I love Amandas HIIT class, but please put fans in the gym and get more 12lbs weights
I love Amanda and Jennifer- they work really hard to welcome and encourage everyone, but we really need a fan as it gets to hot in the gym
I love the HIIT class taught by Amanda would love to get more 12lbs weights
Amanda's group ex class has great workout and routines
I enjoy the pool and the Masters Swim Team along with the availability of lap swimming lanes. Most ymcas have a tremendous amount of classes that limit fitness center pool access and availability. I know my kids enjoy their lessons at the Lakewood ymca however it’s nice to have the masters swim along with lap pool availability. Great job keeping a clean environment keep up the good work team!!

The cleanliness of the facility. Friendliness of the front desk staff.
Honestly, it’s the staff. Everyone is so welcoming and positive. Y’all have a great team there! The modern equipment and clean facilities really make a difference. Plus the salt water pool is the main reason I’m there. Keep up the great work!
Great staff and facilities!

I like the inclusive atmosphere - as an old, small woman, no one gives me the stink eye for being in the squat room, and members and staff have been kind and helpful as I get back into being a gym regular. I like that it isn't crowded (I know, you'd rather have more folks in there!), that it is kept clean, broken items or those needing attention get taken care of. I like the care shown by staff in welcoming the shower program folks, and have not felt uncomfortable with that (I was discouraged a few years back by car-dwellers using the lot and hanging out all day - it felt unsafe to leave my car in the lot back then).
Finally, call out to Jenna B for her enthusiasm and knowledge (and science-based approach) in her Intro to Its class, Muscle Up, and her glutes and hips class (which she should offer again! I know it was poorly promoted and poorly attended, but it was great).
I am getting back into the pool after a long hiatus, but that is a big draw for me (and again, appreciate staff encouragement and care). You have a good team there at the Downtown Y!
