My child had a fabulous time- made memories of a lifetime and friends that will hopefully be part of her life forever. She loved spending time sailing, paddle boarding and swimming in the beautiful lake. She misses camp so much now that she’s home.
My daughters love camp so much, from start to finish the experience is a 10/10 for them and us. The counselors and staff are amazing, the facilities are beautiful, clean and safe, the activities are more than a kid could dream of for an incredible summer. Thank you Fairview Lake for our 4th fantastic year and we honestly can’t wait for 2025!
My child had a wonderful time and met such great people. They tried new experiences and felt comfortable the entire time!
The fact that my kids are screen free and outdoors on an idyllic campus in the care of great counselors and enthusiast leaders and fellow campers. This is THE quintessential camp experience.
The counselors and CITs are the best aspect of this camp. The children love learning and interacting with them. Their attitudes make the camp exciting and friendly while providing a sturcture to the day!
My son had an amazing time. And seeing how emotional the boys were saying goodbye was really surprising and touching to witness.
My daughter loved her time at camp! Every picture I saw of her she looked happy and when we went to pick her up she asked if she could stay an extra week! She has made good fiends two years in a row and has thrived during the three weeks she is there!
Old school camp experience. Kids are outdoors, having fun in a traditional camp format and away from screens.
My son had an amazing time the 1st time at this camp. I really loved the communication from the front desk and also the counselor in charge Anthony who kept us in the loop of my sons request or anything that going on. My son can't stop talking about it and said he found life long friends. He can't wait to come back for the CIT program.
My son loved it, he had an absolute blast. Can't wait to come back next year. Team Raptor!
My son has done specialty camps the past 4 or 5 years (which he will continue to do, too). This year he decided to also try 3 week traditional camp. I thought it was a great idea that was also pretty brave - it can be hard to start as the new kid when other kids have been doing it together for years already. He was nervous and excited, and I am so happy to say he had a wonderful experience. I’m sure there were ups and downs, but he has already made it clear he’s returning next summer😊
This was Augie's fourth year. He loves it!
This is the 4th summer that my son gets to enjoy the privilege of camp at Fairview Lake. Each year, he is sobbing on pick up day which I am ready for as the letters sent while away only beg for us to sign him up for an extended session there. My son has changed a lot and all for the better since being at Camp.
It's a very inclusive environment that allows him to be himself and meet others from so many walks of life.
He loves that he gets to learn new games, be outdoors and most importantly, meet so many new people.
This was my child's first experience with a traditional YMCA sleepaway camp! My child was extremely happy when they came back home! They have been raving for days about their experiences meeting new friends, traditional camp songs and family eating styles, outdoor activities like kayaking, swimming, white water rafting, and even hiking! Writing letters as our form of communication brought back a love of writing for them and they now want to continue exploring the option of having a pen pal! They have become a little more mature, better at communicating with me, and open to new adventures and experiences! We can't wait til next summer!
My kids loved, loved, loved their counselors this year and the fact there was no Color War. :)
The counselors are amazing - my kids come home with stories of how their counselors bring them out of their shell, help get the shy ones out of the cabin, introduce them to new things. I also love that the camp built the new courts. But the absolute best thing about this camp is that my kids get 3 weeks away from screens, phones, social media.
My daughter loved everything about it. I asked her why, then, did she not say a 10. She said tiny things that she couldn’t even pinpoint. So, there you go. 😁
My son became more independent really enjoyed all of the activities and can’t wait to go back
Had another great year!
Both my kids want to return next summer!
We love Fairview. My daughter has been going since the 4th grade. She is going into 9th grade. She comes back full of life, stories, and happiness. I don't want her to loose that zest for life she gained at camp. The combination of outdoors, no screen-time, and great role models are such a great life experience for her. She thrives at camp and I am forever greatful for the opportunity to be a part of the Fairview Lake family. Thank you.
The whole experience!
My daughter love Fairview lake she waited whole year to attend it .She makes friends from all over.learns new skills .The camp makes her more confident independent grateful. This is peaceful place far away from technology and makes them connect to nature.Worth it every penny
Casey has a fantastic time. His counselors this year were excellent. He wants to come back for the whole summer next year. Thanks for letting him be himself and embracing his big personality!
My kids adore FVL. Lots to do, but also lots of time when they arent doing things. Great counselors. We really love the camp and it is with that in mind that I add the following critiques to make a great camp even better:
Kids complained this year that there was too much structure to the activities with the new changes. They felt like they didnt have enough downtime (hanging out at the basketball court, etc) and felt this was a real negative. Seems like the balance isnt quite right between structure and free time with the new system.
My complaint is the lack of medical care available. It is absolutely impossible for working parents to be expected to drive several hours to pick up children because they are ill. Im sure an NP or MD is too costly for the camp, but then the nurses should have the ability to do some testing and/or bring the kids to urgent care. The system is untenable otherwise.
Finally, my dairy free kid felt the options on the menu for him were very limited this year and he lost 6 pounds while at camp. Thats really unacceptable. These kids cant just be given plain pasta everyday. Perhaps the general menu can be made a bit more universally appropriate for different diets.
Noah had a great time and is very eager to go back. He had nothing negative to say whatsoever, keep up the good work!
My girls love this camp and already plan for the next summer at pick up, so that is a good sign.
I like that I was able to get along with everyone quite well a few days into the camp. It was a re-experienced experience.
My son had an amazing experience! There was a perfect balance between independence and programmed fun. He can’t wait to come back next summer.
The camp offers a wide variety of activities at their beautiful facilities. The lake and range of water activities is very impressive. The cabins are clean. The counselors are well trained, fun and engaging. Our kids love going and have so much fun with the other campers.

The experience for my kids has been perfect. They get to meet other kids in an inclusive and fun environment and learn how to be independent.
