My son had a great time in the 5/6 year old group. My daughter didn't care for her group in the 3rd grade and up. There was only two other girls on her team and the teams that she played were primarily all boys. I also thought that the field they played on was too big for them.
As a coach, I love the atmosphere that is created. The YMCA makes it fun but challenging.

We love and will continue to support YMCAWAX. It may not be easy to balance so many teams and children each and every season, yet "if only" there was a way for there to be teams with mixed skill levels. It was hard to have a team play against another team with a greater skill level and one that plays like beginners. I do appreciate the flexibility shown by the refs in the various ages with it still being a fair game. They are a great asset to our little ones. As a parent, I really enjoyed seeing families together on game day and supporting one another; cheering for all players from both teams.
(Be reminded, one of your refs/officials could have helped a player in such away it gives them a brighter future and a desire to go "persevere" and grow!)
Also, RAIN OUTS are NOT cool! There is no way you control it though, which makes it unbearably understandable.

I have always had my kids involved in sports with the Y. I love that they teach the kids good sportsmanship and pray before every game.
Easy and very well organized.
I liked the easy of signing up. The sports director is very responsive. Coach Baker is the best coach.

Delma was amazing at keeping us updated with everything ! The coaches were great with our kiddos and they had so much fun playing soccer this year!

YMCA does an excellent job with scheduling (non-Saturday games), communication, registration, and its employees. I love the spirit of competition and sportsmanship and that they start all activities with prayer. Specifically, at Waxahachie YMCA is the only place I’ve found this type of atmosphere. We participated in a sports program at White Rock YMCA and city leagues previously because they offered non-Saturday activities, and the atmosphere and community spirit was completely different and not enjoyable at all! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep offering youth sports programs that are held during Sunday - Thursday or early on Fridays. Way too much stuff is scheduled on Saturdays already.

Convenient, fairly well-organized.
The coaches/parents are more involved and it's more fun. The kids really get to know each other and have improved in volleyball and overall socializing and team playing that will benefit them in the long run.
Great staple to the community and always the best interest of the kiddos at heart!!
