First year getting involved

Everyone is self friendly and willing to happy in any way they can and they also direct you to the places that you need to go , because is the amaze in the YMCA i love taking a walk around the area. I especially would like to appreciate you are receptionists. He is a very helpful ,respectful. And kind person. I would like to thank all the staff and all the volunteers for their great work and appreciation.

The focus is on playing and giving kids a chance to learn in a safe environment. So many other kids programs are just about winning but the leagues at the Y in my experience have the kids as the top priority.

Friendly, knowledgeable, coaches, who promote working hard, discipline, teaching correct form, and procedures in all aspects of basketball.

Great facility, good people, flexible schedule. Al Lenhart and Carl LaRosa both are amazing, approachable REALLY helpful!

We came from the Boardman y to Central y because the schedule is better but I will say that the instruction at the central y is much better. I have much more confidence in my child’s ability to swim based on her instructors at the central Y. We will be back and I will recommend to others.

The aquatic instructor is great with little ones! She incorporates songs into the lessons to keep them engaged.

The pool and the workout rooms

There’s a large variety of programs and equipment including swimming in two pools.
All the employees are very friendly and fun.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I especially like Lou, Al and Sonia for their service to the members.

Volleyball

Knowledgeable people that run the programs and activities. There to assist if needed.

I'm not in any program yet , but I like to go to the sauna, and walk around,

A lot of available services with various time slots.
It’s becomes like family with the consistency of all who come.

The instructors are patience and caring when they work with my grandson. The instructors celebrate with him when he accomplishes big and small steps in his swimming lessons progress. Their actions are helping him build his confidence both in and out of the water. My grandson went from barely wanting to put his face in the water to blow bubbles to diving for swim rings. Thank you, YMCA swim instructors.

How one on one it is

My son started out telling Mr Lou that he was scared and didn’t want to put his head under water or even his eyes. By the end of the first class you could see the confidence. He’s now in his 10th lesson, and he’s mastering all of the things they’ve covered. Best part is he loves it and wants to jump in.

Love the y

Weight/Cardio rooms. Y-Neptune swim, and other youth programs for my son.

I come here for the deep pool. I’m working on improving my swimming for triathlons this summer. I haven’t used any of the other programs or activities yet.

Besides finding that the Y has been a supportive family community for me, I extremely enjoy their water aerobics program at the central YMCA Youngstown branch! The music and exercise combination releases a tremendous amount of stress and gives me so much more energy throughout the day! The stretch class along with cardio and strength activity has rejuvenated my mind and body! Personal physical training sessions have also been a huge factor in my receiving more mobility, better balance, and stamina! Personal swim lessons helped give me more confidence in the water, not to mention that the instructors were very patient and very knowledgeable of my needs! I look forward to going as often as I can and thoroughly enjoy every minute!
