We were directed to Floyd's while searching about for my AFAB son to get a more androgynous short cut. The salon he'd used previously was still cutting his hair fairly feminine despite requests for a change -- unsure whether that was intentional, or the stylists just didn't quite understand what was being asked for.

The barber at Floyd's was great. They listened to my kiddo, who shared a few photos that he'd found online, and the barber nailed it. At no point did I feel like I needed to intervene, which is sometimes difficult for a parent whose kid is in the process of figuring out who they are in the world -- protection instincts, right?

We were so happy with the cut that we brought my youngest son just two days later for a desperately-needed cut. This was the first time he's actually expressed a desire for a certain style, and again the barber nailed it without me saying anything. They talked to me kid instead of me, which really made me happy as I'm constantly trying to get my kiddos to speak up for themselves and not be afraid to talk with adults and express their needs.

As for myself, I had been going to a rather uptight-but-professional barber in Boulder that has a certain image, but I think I'm going to be taking my own head to Floyd's from now on! Y'all were great!
