Good indoor track. More YMCA locations need one. Am very glad this location does.
Love the eGym. I have never been as faithful to a weightlifting regime as this. It is so nice not having to set or keep track of your seat heights, weights, apparatus adjustments, etc. The video screen helps me maintain good form. Bill was great to set things up and attend to tweaks or problems.
I like having the user-programmed locks on the cubbies so that I don’t have to lug a padlock back and forth from home. My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard or impossible to find an unlocked cubby next to the weightlifting desk. Bill tells me that often half of the cubbies are empty but locked. This should be a regular priority to check these and unlock the empty ones.
I wonder why there can’t be working spray bottles at every eGym machine and all the other weightlifting machines. Everything would go that much quicker if you didn’t have to go look for a spray bottle.
The swimming pool. One of us (10 yo) was very upset at not being allowed to use the hot tub.... she has never been able to use a hot tub at a YMCA. They were excited to see they could use the cardio equipment if they got oriented to it! We were sad the rooftop garden wasn't open. It was a beautiful day outside! While we waited for the pool to open (we timed our arrival poorly), we just watched people on the open courts, because one of us didn't have non-marking soles.
Still would recommend, especially if we could get our friends to join us!
The personal is very nice. The place is very well maintained. The activities and programs are at your request.
The Play and Learn center is a life saver for parents and caretakers. Knowing my child is safe and having fun while I have a chance to take care of myself is incredible.
I like Water Aerobic’s with Caroline. I also like the indoor track. The locker room and showers are very clean and spacious. The general feel of the Irsay “Y” is welcoming. Please keep up the good work!
I love the pool -- the lifeguards have a great schedule, are very friendly, and the sauna/hot tub are great to relax after swimming.
Convenience is a great thing. The location for us living downtown is perfect. Thank you for getting rid of the clunky lot gates. Thank you for all the new equipment. Thank you for the convenient lockers right by the gym floor.
The track is great for walking, and the rail adds to its safety. I have to find a group class that meets when I can coordinate that with my husband's walking in the a.m.

The availability of the pool and classes
I enjoyed the water activities and the walking track. I wasn’t able to attend much because of being the primary caregiver for my elderly mother.

I love that I can choose a group workout class or self-guide my workout depending on my schedule and mood. Love the variety of options offered in both group fitness and for self-guided options. I am also a big fan of the pool and sauna. The Y offers the broadest range of options of any gym or workout facility I have tried in Indianapolis.
It’s always a clean space. It would be nice if there were intro tours to some of the programming that didn’t cost, I’ve always hesitated to sign up an pay extra especially after the free trial with a personal trainer got messed up and I wasn’t on that person’s schedule after I’d taken time to review profiles a few years ago.
So far our experience is limited to aquatics, but swimming lessons have been great and we really enjoy the open swim times.
