My sister and I are caregivers for our Mom. I love the pool though I’m not a swimmer. I can take advantage of the cardio-splash and aqua zumba classes from 8:45 am until 9:45 am. Sometimes, I come early and stay late with my goal being 460 minutes a week. The YMCA is a comfort zone.
Mainly I just use the exercise equipment on the second floor as far as equipment exercise.
I do try to swim laps 2-3 times a week and the jacuzzi afterwards and then shower. The pool is a good temperature, the jacuzzi is clean and powerful. The showers get a lot of daily use but are kept pretty clean.
I also sign up for Leslie Carlson’s balance class which is well run and helps me.
The machines are standard and quite satisfactory. The sauna is quite nice and the Jacuzzi is amazing!
It might be nice if the noisy room door was closed while everyone else is exercising, but that’s just minor. No biggie.

I love everything about the Y! Awesome swim programs; youth programs; Parkinson's programs and Group Fitness programs!
Love the personal training. Other than that I simply work out there and don’t participate in activities or programs. It’s a great gym, friendly, roomy and exactly what I like.
I love the classes and all the instructors who make it fun, energetic, and a great workout!!
I enjoy the classes and also the lunch and learn opportunities.
I do like the Venice YMCA. However, I prefer here to write about some suggestions I think are worthwhile.
I am not pleased with Cardio Splash being cut on Wed. (Perhaps Eva could fill in as she has done before?) Or another trained aqua gym instructor can fill the gap. Other YMCAs offer more aqua activities.(s.Palmer Ranch, Englewood).
Chair yoga for seniors is greatly overfilled in snow-bird season. The alternative class now offered is more difficult and not just using chair for support which is what chair yoga is about.
Also, how about a beginner's Tai Chi for seniors?
Excellent staff from membership all the way to wellness. Staff listens to feedback.
the equipment is great but I really like pilates reformer.
I like the fact there are a lot of group classes offered each day.
There’s a range of activities and always feels like I have options.
