Excellent instructors.
Great instructors and life guards
It available for any time specially in the week end and early in the morning
We just joined The Y and this is the first swimming lesson my daughter (5 years old) has taken at The Y. The instructor quickly realized that my daughter could swim and moved her to the appropriate level class. The instructor did a great job challenging the kids in the class with new strokes and tasks to work on.
Our swim class instructor is very encouraging. He does a great job explaining to my child how to better her strokes. My child enjoys coming to swim class!
The student teacher ratio for the intro swim (7yr old) is wonderful 3 children to 1-2 teachers. Great lifeguard presense! The new facility is wonderful private showers and family change areas are great.
I notice the slightly older intermediate age little kids look like they are swimming by themselves coach is out and not as interactive which makes me think maybe I would go here for beginner but change once my daughter is intermediate.

The staff do a great job with the little ones. They display a strong ability to understand the age groups capabilities and apprehensions. They have commendable coping skills & patience while maintaining positivity, encouragement & enthusiasm. Great job to these ladies.

The instructor is amazing!
The coaches are friendly and supportive. It's a group class but they manage to pay individual attention to everyone. I like that they work with everyone based on their skill level and fears. I feel more confident in water after just 2 lessons because the coaches seem to focus on good techniques. I especially like that the coach shows you how to do something by getting in the water, not by instructing from outside the pool. The lessons combine survival techniques and strokes, and coach Sarah ensures that swimming is a fun activity. I would highly recommend swimming lessons at The Y to anyone interested.
Teachers we extremely friendly, very attentive and provided some fundamentals while also creating a fun learning space! Also clean facilities with great accommodations for sitting and changing rooms!
We are very happy, because the teachers are putting a lot of effort into helping the children learn to swim. I don't know the name of my son's teacher, Michael. She is a thin girl with glasses. She is fabulous, she does her best and gives my son a lot of confidence.

Miss McKenzie and Mr. Logan are wonderful! Our daughter was nervous in the beginning, but they have done such an amazing job making her feel comfortable. She loves getting her lessons, and she's so much more comfortable in the water after just two lessons.
Well organized
I'm very impressed and pleased with our experience with the aquatics program at the Tuckahoe YMCA. My daughter is 3.5 years old and taking her first formal swim lessons. The swimmer to instructor ratio is so small; I love the individualized attention. I can tell the instructors are trained well and so patient with the little swimmers. I look forward to registering for more classes in the future.
Small groups for lessons and my boys have a lot of fun while learning to swim.
Great teachers, particularly Sally, who is SO much fun to work with. And the price can't be beat. I've learned a tremendous amount in the couple of months I've been taking lessons.
