Pool and workout are clean and well managed
Helpful, kind staff members and swim instructors
Hello,
I joined in January and "The Y" is great. One of the reasons I did was to have access to machines and free weights. I am 77 and participated in Powerlifting when I attended grad school at Clemson. Yes, it has been a while. I will never again pull off a 200 pound squat, but doing a single rotation after yoga class has made a huge positive difference. So thank you for that!
I remember people jumping off a machine if they planned to take a break in between sets. My experience at this Y is a bit bizarre. It is not uncommon for someone to hop on a machine and essentially set up camp. MANY spend time scrolling on their phone with zero consideration of the Y being a shared and busy studio! At least once a week, I observe people carrying on a conversation seemingly oblivious that others are waiting. Generally the worst offenders of gym etiquette appear to be forty and older. I suspect that they are new to working out. Hello, I've never experienced even a whiff of entitled behavior in a weight room before.
I wish the Y and personal trainers would institute a comprehensive weight room orientation that stressed the importance of good citizenship with emphasis on sharing and cooperation. Of course, use phones to scan if one has a question on how to adjust a machine but it is ridiculous to plop on a machine to scroll or check messages in between sets unless one is alone in the gym!
It is not uncommon to see a list of rules or expected behaviors in gym spaces. Hopefully participants would rise to the level of reasonable expectations. Thanks.

Great staff & services!
The employees are very kind and informed on what is going on with the kids. They truly care for all the kids. I wouldn’t want my son going anywhere else.
Location of facility and equipment is what I need in a gym.
Love the workout classes that are available! The employees are always friendly!
My daughter is loving her time at the YMCA so far!
I like the Les mills pump and the boot camp class. The pool and the steam room and the sauna are all really nice.
Excellent exercise programs, swim classes. Clean, happy environment, very friendly staff
My grandchildren enjoy going to the y every day. It is a well organized program. They get a snack, help with homework, and have stations which gives each child options for them to play in a safe, organized atmosphere. The staff are patient and helpful. Mrs.Tyler does a great job running the program. I wanted to say thank you for taking such good care of my grandchildren.
Excellent program. My kids always look forward to going when school gets out. The counselors help them with their homework, keep them engaged in fun activities, and provide them with snacks. They do a great job of communicating early and often! A++
