Jen, the personal trainer is kind and doing a great job putting the person supported through her exercises. Her attention to detail and encouragement are just what’s needed for Maygan to continue attending her sessions..
Everything’s amazing
A fabulous gym! Clean. Well laid out. Everything one could want for their workout.
Really enjoyed having the opportunity to use this great facility.
Health & Fitness absolutely amazing!! The definition of perfect!!
I mostly use the weight room and cardio equipment and am very satisfied with them.
The quality of instructors has been much better, more engaged and energetic with young kids and I've seen improvements in my child's swim class.
Great lifeguard staff who are very good with children. Hands on approach to learning in the pool and the kids have had a blast. Better than other swim lessons we’ve had at other facilities.
We think the swimming lessons are great and the kids are enjoying it. They really like their instructors.
Something for everyone! I just wish they had a membership for those who may just want to use the pool. I think you would get sooooo many more members if you had a membership for just the pool! I have the everything but I use everything so it’s worth it for me but so many people have said they would get a membership if they had one for just the pool
Variety of programs with a wide range of time slots
Great equipment for specific purposes
Amazing ,welcoming and knowledgeable staff
I like the beautiful clean facility, very helpful and friendly staff, great meeting the members and getting excercise at the same time
All the programs and activities are great. Staff are very nice and helpful. I love going to YMCA it’s a good place to get yourself healthy.
The Goderich YMCA offers a lot of great programs and activities for retired individuals and couples at convenient times of the day.
We enjoy aqua-fit, the pool, the walking track, adult skating, yoga, and pickle ball.
The instructors are welcoming and from gentle yoga to the more active exercises there is something for everyone.
Wide variety of programs and activities appropriate for all ages in our community and region. Staff engage with us and support our activity in healthy, positive ways. Great place to be physically active on a regular basis!
Fun and beneficial
Facilities are excellent, clean and the staff are very accommodating.
Huge variety of programs available. Amazing instructors
Such a great variety of programs and machines and the yoga is lovely
Where's the pool is open more often like Friday night have an open swim at 4:00 p.m. till even 8:00 or something
Lane swimming. Strength and Stretch exercise class.
I love the walking track
I mostly swim. Love to have a pool especially in winter. It looks like lifeguard situation is improving with the addition of some more mature lifeguards.
I read somewhere recently that you were working on a computer system to register for pool use. Please don’t do that. We are managing fine and cooperatively and I have heard only very bad things about computer registration systems in other areas.
Members are pleasant and friendly
Friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable trainers. And the social part which I like.
I like that you have several to choose from and the times seem to work for most members.
At this point we only use the free walking track availability for Goderich residents- which we are very appreciative of.
please do not publish our names
Love the walking track when the weather outside is frightful!
The variety of programs suits the mix of interest and ages of the Y's clientele.
I do like the available programs and the clean facility
I must say the pool hours aren't the best but improving
Not too happy about 2 x membership increases within 1 year
Free walking track pass has been very helpful on days where walking outside is a challenge.Thankyou for this. The ladies on the desk are so friendly and kind.

My daughter is enjoying the swimming lessons and has progressed really far.
My daughter and I also enjoys the time in the leisure pool.
Disappointed the lifeguard club was cancelled due to low attendance, but son is considering advancing his to bronze cross.
The only reason I give a 9 instead of a 10 is for the lane swim. It seems that some swimmers take the lane for the entire swimming time (often two hours) even if there are other people waiting for the lane. I've also observed some people doing exercises in the shallow part of the lane, cling to the edge of the deep end for extended periods of time (30+ minutes) or just floating and even socializing with the lifeguard in the lanes - when that could be activities could be accommodated on the leisure side. When it comes to lane sharing, I've been told by the life guard to come back as a particular person 'is like swimming beside the wake of a boat' i.e. splashes around and doesn't share well - the lifeguard also told me that person planned to swim for two hours and to come back later. As I live out of town and work around my kids activities in town - this was less than convenient. Although my plan is now to bring both my gym and swim clothes so that I can be more flexible.
I suppose the reason why this has been annoying is that my son needs to get his stamina up in order to further his lifeguarding training. If we come during the lunch hour swim time, often we are there the entire time and he gets 15 minutes before the pool closes to work on his lengths - if he gets any time at all. At this point, my son has doubts he will pass. Too bad lifeguard club didn't move forward b/c then kiddos would have had designated lane time to get ready for the next levels.
Feeling a bit defeated about it. As it stands, I can't figure out a solution that works within our schedule. However, I don't think the issue is with the YMCA programming or your wonderful life guards. I think it comes down to etiquette on behalf of the patrons - lane sharing and courtesy for other who are waiting.
