I love that my kids enjoy the Y programs and activities.
I love the friendly atmosphere and the pool is wonderful for my daily swims. The Y is very clean and well cared for in Mills County .
Really like the variety of classes and the expertise as well as their friendliness!
Well I like the classes on healthy living. Wish they weren't so expense.
I’d rather comment that the exercise equipment needs to be dusted and cleaned regularly. Otherwise I’m good.
Open swim is available more here than any other Y.
We love the small classes and 1:1 time my child gets during swim sessions. The instructors are great with him and really push him to achieve more and try harder and also allow time for play and silliness. Swim at the Y is definitely the highlight of his week.

Staff
Staff care about those who u
friendly and helpful
There are many different ways to get your exercise. There are people that will work with you to achieve what you are trying to do.
They never pressure you on doing anything though.
The staff you have for before and after school is amazing!
My daughter attended several of the weekly summer camps this year. Her father and I are happy with the attention the summer director, Jeannie Lorimor, put into running the camp smoothly and successfully. We had a few issues toward the start of the summer program, and Jeannie addressed the problems immediately. Some of the positives we liked about summer camp at the Mills YMCA were:
-Behavior plans were created and implemented. Kids were able to earn positive reinforcements for acceptable behavior.
-Weekly themes, speakers, and extra fun activities (i.e., water slide, walk to the local candy store, etc.) were planned and shared with parents.
-Jeannie was almost always present throughout the day if parents had concerns or questions.
-Warm and friendly staff members
-Trips to the outdoor pool
-Large and fine motor activities to help burn off extra energy- our daughter came home tired every day, which is hard to accomplish.
Our daughter reported that her favorite part about summer camp was being a "counselor in training," where she got to work with and support some of her younger peers. She came home stating that she couldn't wait to be a counselor at the YMCA when she grew up. On her last day, she ran out crying because she had so much fun and would miss her teachers and friends. We highly recommend the Mills County YMCA summer camp to family and friends.
My daughter had the best summer! Her favorite was swimming. She loved the lunch program, told her dad that it was better than his food, lol! She loves art and crafts, and they did lots of arts and fun crafts. The made an aquarium, did tye dye, and lots of drawing and stencils. She loved the guest speakers, her favorite were the many animals they got to meet. This program is very well organized and directed. My daughter will be returning next summer. I highly recommend the Glenwood YMCA summer camp your kid(s) will love it!
