Wish we had had a doner like the Carls Family that could have built a Y in Birmingham, because tomorrow the Birmingham Y is closing! The Birmingham Seniors (NEXT) are moving in after losing their space at an elementary school, so the city bought the building for a measly $2 million.

This unknown world of water aerobics is a life changer for me, since I've started this I now walk alot more lift weights(not just my body fat) starting to eat better and generally feeling better. Thanks YMCA

The fitness center is great. It has everything you need for a good workout.
Workout area in basement with free weights. Parents night out is a huge benefit. Other kids programs to keep them active.
It is a community not just a gym.

It is very satisfying exercising with a group of peers. No one is judgemental or over competitive. And there are so many different opportunities at the Y. They really do try to have something for everyone!

I like the people that go to the y. I/ve make some very good friends at the Y and enjoy the classes. We meet 1/2 hour before our class and enjoy conversation and companionship. I would truly miss that. The table is open to anyone that wants to join us in conversation.
