The group classes have a lot of participants.

There are many exercise machines to choose from that work various parts of the body. And I love the Dry Sauna that has been working every time I use it!
We would not want to lose this place at the right spot.

It is clean, spacious, and the classes are great. Always plenty of parking too. I'm disappointed that this YMCA is closing, as it will make South Oakland even busier. I tried to sign up for a class at South Oakland and it was already full-- this never happens at Birmingham. I'm worried I'll have to cancel my membership as the Y will no longer have the options I need.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is like being at home.

The Birmingham MI YMCA has the training machines, the pool, the programs, the community mission, and the great employees that make this our second home in Birmingham!
The BIrmingham Y has been a part of our family life for several generations. It is so sad that the decision has been made to close this facility. It's difficult to believe that closing the Y was the only solution.

The swim classes have been great. Rachel has been a very thorough and engaging instructor. The women's locker room, shower and sauna is lore spacious than royal oak. The front desk staff are very welcoming.
