I have been going to SC for several years. Today was one of those rare, awkward experiences from a walk-in visit and accepting the first available stylist. I will never do that again.
I hate to submit a negative review, but today was a bit much. I do not want this person to get i trouble, but instead hope she will be further trained and guided on improvement opportunities so she may become a better stylist.
Some of the following feedback may be influenced by the fact I am a bit of an introvert and today's stylist is clearly an extrovert.
The stylist I met today was new to me (I think she was new at the store). She was friendly, but maybe a bit too friendly. I observed some odd actions during my haircut, such as almost forgetting to put on the clothing cape prior to starting the cut. She also moved my eyeglasses from the counter (a helpful gesture) but handled them by grasping a lens, thereby smudging the lens (sorry, but my eyeglass lenses have to be smudge free). During the hot towel and head massage treatment, she pressed her fingers over my eyes (I am pretty sure she did not realize she was doing this). I was close to saying something if the pressure had been more.
By the time the haircut was finished, I was ready to get out of the store, but there was a problem with the check out process. Since this was the last cut for my Season Pass, I really wanted to give her a gratuity and leave, then purchase my next ticket with the stylist I would have preferred to use today. At this point, the stylist asked that I please buy the ticket today, creating another awkward moment. I told her by re-mentioning that I really needed to get on the road to pick up my granddaugher, but she insisted and said it would only take a few moments. When she could not get things to work with the computer, she had to call on the assistance of another stylist who was already cutting someone's hair. Finally, things were done and I could leave. Unfortunately, I now had gray hair on the front of my dark shirt, plus my neck and shoulders were itching and it would be about 90 minutes before I could get home.
I really wanted to have my haircut by a particular individual who has done a great job in the past, but the app said she had a 20-minute wait. I could not do this as I was needing to be at my granddaughter's school by a certain time to pick her up and take her home.
Due to this experience and one other past "first available" experience, I will no longer do an unscheduled walk-in or app appointment. Instead, I will use to app to schedule an appointment with a stylist with which I am familiar.
