Team play, practice, and over all play.
PGA Jr. League is the best way for a child to learn golf. We have been part of the league at two clubs. Franklin Bridge offers months of lessons before the season starts and Westhaven doesn't. But I think the difference is that FB can offer the program to parents who may not know how to play golf. If they are following the rules, they aren't supposed to help anyway. They just drive the cart, find missing balls and keep pace of play going. Families paying the fees to join WH are probably already playing so it works out. The fact that the kids are able to play at amazing courses is the big selling point! Before PGA Jr. League, my kids had never been able to play a full game in a real course. Tons of clinics, lessons, etc... but could only play games with the family. This gives them so much experience.
It’s one of the few opportunities for team golf. Our kids love Jr. League. It really helps generate early interest in the game.

the exposure it provides to children to the beautiful life long game and all the supplemental life lessons that are wonderfully hidden within the game, patience and perseverance as well as respect for the sport and the other golfers in the game
We love the 2 man scramble format for this age group. The coaches are amazing. The parents and children are kind. My son really looks forward to each season.

I love that the instructors are hands on and help kids with all aspects of the game. They are encouraged and celebrated. The entire community is great including parents.

We really enjoyed the team aspect. And we enjoyed watching our son (who is on the older end of the age range of players and a great player) coach up and encourage his younger teammates. This is something he has picked up from the older players who helped him when he started the PGA Jr. League and something he picked up from the college players who worked with his team.

Opportunity to play and understand a scrimmage. Golf course etiquette. Let the kids have fun and navigate their own game allowing them to decide if they wanted to pursue this sport.

This was a great first experience for our family. It was well organized, the schedule was clear, and once we got all our family members on the app, schedule changes were easy. We played through TN Golf Foundation (First Tee). We are not members of a country club. It was wonderful to have access to golf and our player played some great courses!

PGA jr league has been a great experience for my son. He has done it for 3 summers. It is such an amazing opportunity for kids to learn and grow in the game of golf!
