It's the best Junior program I've ever seen.
It gives the kids a fun team experience and helps them learn and apply the rules on their own.
In our area, it is one of - if not the only - options for young golfers to participate at a team level. It helps build community, comradery and sportsmanship in a way that traditional, solo tournaments don't.
Loved the team concept, especially when you alternated three players in and out. Loved the three hold "flag" concept to hold their attention, and also to switch out team members when you had three.

My son loved the practices. They were so organized and fun for the kids. I was also so happy that so many parents stepped up and help run the practices to make it safe and fun for all the kids.

I believe the PGA Jr. League allows students from all walks of life the opportunity to learn a new sport that promotes good sportsmanship, integrity, confidence and perseverance. My children have had an awesome experience learning a sport that they may have never have had the opportunity to play. Their confidence has grown as they have went from not making contact with the ball, nor knowing any rules/regulations to playing games and navigating the course with their peers. Coach McDermott has been amazing in the development of this league in Rockport, Texas. His passion and determination for the kids to love the sport as they become young golfers is obvious by the amount of time and effort he puts into his practice routines, parent contacts and one on one coaching sessions. His students show the upmost respect for him as evident by their behaviors on and off the green! It truly has been an amazing experience thus far!
