It’s an absolute blast working with kids who share the same level of excitement towards golf that I do.
Mainly that the kids had a great time. I also coach the High School team and 3 of the Jr League kids signed up for HS Golf.
It provides a stepping stone for the beginner player to learn the game on the course compared to just on the range. Junior golfers need that beginner level format that eases them into the game. Sending Junior golfers straight into a competitive format with players who are above average in skill level can greatly deter a new golfer to continue their game development. The PGA Jr league provides that.
The kids enjoy the format, competition, and meeting new friends.

Everything. Parents love it. Juniors like playing with their buddies. Kids make new friends. Relaxed competition because of the format. Get to travel to different courses. It’s a good way to get extra income with add on lessons.
Team aspect, no pressure on team mates, family members can participate, multiple juniors from same family can compete, on course availability.

Kids and parents getting involved in golf together. Great for building mindset and maintaing health. Even with Covid-19 we saw greater participation, sales in golf shop and restaurant increase on their league days.
It is a great opportunity for new junior players to get a chance to compete on a golf course against other new players. A very low key league with emphasis on fun and not on winning or losing.
It allows me to introduce juniors who like the game, but aren’t yet comfortable playing in competitive tournaments, a chance to develop their skills and grow and a golfer. Our intentions are for our players to develop their games enough to where they feel confident that they can compete on their school teams or in the local Jr tour.
