My name is Coach Matt with the Chambers Bay Jr. League, and I love PGA Jr. League because it gives kids a reason to fall in love with golf.
It’s not just about who shoots the lowest score. They get to be on a team, wear a jersey, make friends, compete, and feel like they’re part of something.
As a PGA Professional, Jr. League has also given me a pathway to keep kids engaged and growing in the game. From a four-year-old playing their first few holes all the way to competitive juniors trying to reach Regionals and Nationals.
I would encourage any PGA Professional to get involved. Start small, make it fun, and build a culture kids want to come back to. Jr. League has become one of my favorite parts of being a PGA Professional.

The PGA Jr League program is a great program for beginner and intermediate juniors. We usually have 6 weeks of practice and then 5 weeks of competition and with the 2-person scramble format it sets up success for any kid. We have done the program now for 7 years and it’s fantastic.
The team concept! It’s great to see the relationships develop between the kids and also their parents.
Really enjoy seeing the children become a team and the friendships that develop throughout the season

I LOVE PGA Jr League. In our 12th year hosting a single session junior league program, this is our first time bringing any team to Regional Championships in Utah. This year, we had 205 participants in our summer jr league season hosting 7 weeks of games around the Greater Seattle area. Each team played 6 games and received 2 practices before the season kicked off. With 205 players and limited course access, we are thankful to our partnering courses for providing 5pm or later tee times on Sunday evenings throughout the summer.
I love bringing our teams and players to All Star qualifiers and providing the exceptional memories for these players. We brought 8 teams split between 13u and 17u with one team from each league moving on to the next round. I think the All Star experience is unmatched at the local levels, aside from the fun, optional playdays. The Meadowpark Golf Course team in Tacoma, WA and our Player Engagement Consultant, Patrick Oropallo, make the post season for our players a true experience.
I love the teamwork aspect of PGA Jr League, and seeing players step on the golf course for the first time. Seeing players work together, displaying sportsmanship, respect and integrity on the golf course is unmatched. Thank you!
It is a great program for any skill level. It introduces a new format to the kids that they normally don’t play in other Jr. golf tournaments.

Keeping the environment socially competitive. The programs works best for introducing golf to a wide swath of juniors. Those seeking more competitive environments can/should seek other alternatives.
Team bonding and family support at events
I enjoy watching the kids improve as the season progresses. I think the family support of our parents is such a positive part of the experience for the,players.

The families are there are play days and help out. Just finished our 6th year with 24 juniors.
PGAJRLG is fantastic for any junior golfer, especially the beginners. It’s super low key with a lot of instruction. We had 50+ in our league this year and most of them were beginners.
Great way for our Junior golfers to compete in a team environment to represent our club.
What's not to like, you get your kids and do what you need to do to help them learn and have fun? You just need to have the formal rules down to play in a qualifier but the freedom to make your league what you need is amazing.
