Coach Testimonials
I love that it gets juniors on the golf course in a great low pressure format. It also is a great opportunity for juniors to play other courses and meet other juniors.
PGA Jr is a great avenue to allow players and family's from different backgrounds to come together and enjoy the game of golf. Its a great way to learn without tons of pressure being put on the kids.
My name is Coach Matt with the Chambers Bay Jr. League, and I love PGA Jr. League because it gives kids a reason to fall in love with golf.
It’s not just about who shoots the lowest score. They get to be on a team, wear a jersey, make friends, compete, and feel like they’re part of something.
As a PGA Professional, Jr. League has also given me a pathway to keep kids engaged and growing in the game. From a four-year-old playing their first few holes all the way to competitive juniors trying to reach Regionals and Nationals.
I would encourage any PGA Professional to get involved. Start small, make it fun, and build a culture kids want to come back to. Jr. League has become one of my favorite parts of being a PGA Professional.
Sincerely,
Matt Last name removed, PGA

Everything!
It is an alternative for kids who don't play Little League Baseball. Good way to grow the game.
I believe it is an awesome format that obviously has brought many kids in to the game. It is something that every PGA Professional should have at their course.
I think it’s great for younger kids and less experienced juniors. Good introduction to “tournament “ golf
The team aspect, uniforms for the players.
The friendships that develop, along with learning golf skills, sportsmanship, rules, etiquette, teamwork and respect that it teaches.
The opportunity for the older players to mentor the younger players and help them improve.
My PGA Jr League brings players and family members together. A great way to grow the game!
I like that I connect with so many families that come from different backgrounds in the game. Everyone has their own version of what success is in golf and we get to work on that goal together. Junior League grows my lesson base to include parents and other siblings I may not be in touch with through normal channels. We can also get families interested in coming to the course more for their recreation time. They might play twilight or practice after dinner and that all happens at the course and they are so proud to tell you about their extra practice. I have always had bosses tell me that it is tough to get customers to the course but when they are there it is an easy sell to keep them engaged in the game or at the Tiki Bar or the practice green. Junior League in another way to keep generations engaged in our game.
It’s a great way for kids to get started in tournament golf
I love the opportunity to have new golfers and experienced golfers play side by side. Such a great learning and coaching experience for everyone.
It is a great developmental program.
While I use the Operation 36 platform for our instruction and play development, PGA Junior League allows the golfers that are further along in the skill set an opportunity to put their feet a little further into the competitive fire. Without the pressure of playing their own ball exclusively, they can jump into some slightly longer yardages and yet still have a great time with friends.
Great opportunity for juniors to learn competitive golf...in a semi fun competitive format.
Great learning opportunity for junior golfers.
Everything
Kid friendly and team atmosphere makes it more fun
The Junior’s love having teammates and out on the course playing more in the thrill of competition, but the support of the scramble and matchplay format, and the parents love it
The format, the fun and the competition
Community/Relationship
Fun and competition for the kids.
Its a great way for kids to get used to competition without too much pressure. It also helps increase jr involvement at the course and drives lesson income.
Have the opportunity in a fun way to develop the youth!
Great program
The easy to use portal allows for creation and editing of schedules. The convenient communication through email chats. The jersey and headgear availability. The access to training for the volunteer coaches.
It should be the foundation of every golfers career
