I stopped into Sports Clips Saturday afternoon to get a quick haircut. I know this is a salon geared more toward men, but I just wanted the back of my curly hair cut into a A line Bob. The first person I spoke with was not confident that was something anyone in the salon could do and suggested I try the full service salon in the shopping center. I’m a Leukemia Survivor and had just found out my Leukemia had returned. I was to start treatment on Monday and was hopeful that the treatment I was going to have would not make me lose all of my hair, but was told it may thin and come out in patches. I was determined to get a trim to alleviate any tangles that would make saving my hair difficult. When I explained this the girl brought out her Manager, Kiley, who did a great job explaining that Sports Clips didn’t typically do this type of cut and why, but she listened to my plight and told me that she was trained in this cut and could do it and that sometimes they were asked to do this cut on children. I told her I was fine not having a blow dry or flat iron as I let my curly hair dry naturally. She brought me back to a chair and washed my hair. She even let me sister come back with me. This was my first haircut since my hair grew back after Leukemia. Kiley was outstanding. She used the moment to teach her staff how to do the cut so next time you won’t need to turn a customer away. Thank you so much Kiley! I’m so happy with my haircut.
Jen Macy was amazing. She was getting ready to clock out but saw my name pop up on the waiting list so she waited and took great care of me. I am always happy when it is time to get a haircut and I get to see Jen. She always does an amazing job. As long as Jen is at Sports Clips I am not getting my hair cut anywhere else.
