The fitness instructors, especially Diana (Zumba) and Rae/Stephanie (BodyJam) are excellent. They make the classes fun.
I like the variety of classes and the weight area. The facility is always clean and staff welcoming
One thing I find odd that I do not find at the downtown or Foster Y is that participants in some of the classes will stop in the middle of class and start up a conversation with their neighbor. 🤷‍♀️ The ladies are generally at the front of the class. I don’t know if this is an age (these ladies seem to be seniors) or culture (they are bilingual) thing but it is distracting and disrespectful of other members.
I love the Les Mills classes, especially Body Combat and Body Attack. I wish they were more often offered outside work hours since I can mostly only attend them on weekends or work/school holidays. I also really do like the weight room and find the staff super helpful. Monica is also highly responsive
I ve already done this once; great programs and staff; major part of my exercise life
I mostly weight train and use the sled and the track.
They seem pretty well organized
Love the programs ….doing a great job for the community..
Please bring back towels to Trotter. You can raise the rates, by $5, and pay for the towels.
Astros', church, & the YMCA in my opinion, are the most important factors to keep the world revolving.
No extra cost .
The facility is clean, well organized and failing equipments are repaired promptly. To top it all , the staff are always smiling , friendly and helpful.

They are fun and a great way for kids to interact with other kids out from school life. It helps them grow as a person.
Variety of classes
My trainer and home membership are at the Trotter Family Y. I am an athletic 70-year-old and the instruction and support I get at the Y are unbelievable. It is always positive, and the vibe is outstanding. We belong to many fine athletic and sporting clubs in Houston and the surrounding area, yet the YMCA remains my favorite.
There is a ton of variety and support for whatever level of fitness or age. And that is another great thing about the Y. It is diverse - covering so many different types of folks at all sorts of different levels. There are also activities which are not so physically aimed, such as the gardens at the Trotter Y or a variety of other classes. I have also heard, from several discerning moms and dads, that the childcare is really good - in fact, superior to far fancier clubs.
Finally, membership at the Y supports community and youth programs that are priceless.
The way I look at it, my membership at the Y does me a heap of good and gives back to the community at the same time. This really is a win win. The YMCA receives my highest recommendation.
Great facility
We love all of the stretching class instructors including Shan and Mini.
We appreciate the informative medical, art and community sources presentations.
Bingo is an entertaining monthly activity.
Water aerobic classes are most valuable.
I would rather have an all inclusive world religions class rather than a strictly Bible class where people can learn about various spiritual paths and be more appreciative and respectful of each other.
I like the classes and the fact that they are included with the membership.Thr pool is good and is well maintained. I have never even seen a leaf in it.I like the cafe .The food is good and not fattening. And the pickleball.
I like the women’s gym, lap pool, and wide variety of classes to choose from.
