The Staff. Wow, you guys are great. From the greeting I get when I arrive to the way I am treated in my classes, to the remarks when I leave is just wonderful. Everyone is friendly, even the cleaning crew greets you with a smile and a hello.
The variety of classes offered and the great selection of exercise equipment.
I like the way the Y feels like family, from welcoming my baby in childcare, to cheering me on in tough classes— people want you to be at home and to succeed.
The person
We love the YMCA Youth Sports because it is very organized and it is an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome and able to succeed. We have been participating since my son was 3, and he is now 9. The staff at the Southeast Y is the reason we keep coming back. They are the best!
This YMCA is not the biggest but they have everything you need equipment wise. If you happen to end up going at peak time you will be hard pressed to get your desired workout in. If you work during daytime hours I suggest you avoid going between 4pm to 6pm
The members the teachers are excellent especially Jodi and Paul for cycling and Rose, Carla and Susan for Water Aerobic . The socialization with the Members my favorite front desk staff is Bethany
Great environment for kids to learn skills and have fun.
Family friendly environment. The kids have fun.
Love it, swim lessons are awesome, great instructors. Just started soccer, the coaches are amazing.
Mrs. Debbie Hancox at the Southeast YMCA is amazing. She is very organized and keeps the kids in mind at all times. Fun is what comes first and then learning is a close second.
The coaches are awesome and so supportive
I love that my daughter, who is new to soccer, can learn about the game, meet new friends and feel like an important part of a team all without the parents spending way too much money and time. Thank you for the nice balance.
It's a great place to learn how to play a sport.

The people who come to the one o'clock Water Aerobics class are kind and caring and the luncheons that we get together for as a class are a nice way to build on our friendships. We go to a restaurant about every other month or so. Usually 12-20 people. This is a nice way to socialize. I also enjoy coffee with others sometimes but most days by the time I leave the pool others have already left the facility.
Recently, there was an incident with some of the ladies. This was a result of somebody not wanting to get their hair wet (In water aerobics class?) This seemed like an incident that would happen among teenagers not adults and did put a damper on things for sure. There were some children in the pool. I was told they were brought there from Brooklawn and maybe the time of our class or their visit time could be changed. The whole incident seemed to get blown out of proportion and I hope this can be solved among the two individuals.
Controversy of any kind is something I avoid like a plague.
