I generally love the Norton Commons Y. My kids love the water slide and I appreciate being able to sit in the hot tub and still keep an eye on them when I swim. The staff is always super kind, courteous and inclusive when I take a new fitness class.
When we were there Tues 7/5 however there was a new lifeguard who was rude and aggressive. He was an older gentleman who put my son in time out for running. I realize that this a rule, why it is a rule and that my son broke it. I feel this lifeguard putting him in time out and then lecturing me on actions having consequences was a bit too much. I told him that I have never had my son sat in time out before and he aggressively told me 'well you just did" while shaking his head as I I should be ashamed of myself. He had several kids sitting out against the wall before I left and if I had time I was going to try to mention it but I didn't. Thank you for sending this survey. Norton Commons Y has always been wonderful. This was an isolated incident.
