Member Testimonials
The environment is warm and welcoming. The employees are busy but they still manage to give a smile in passing. Even some of the members have helped me out when things were not working. Being over weight, society looks at you in a demeanour that is condescending of what we are at the gym trying to do. We know we are over weight we see it every darn day but it's nothing like coming into a place for the upteenth time to try again and again to get it off; and the environment is free of judgemental stares.
To be honest, I have not had the opportunity to take advantage of the many classes the downtown Y offers as I travel nearly every week for my job. However, I really appreciate the effort the Y makes to keep the equipment in good repair and up to date. I love the new exercise framework in the weight room - it might be helpful, for those who are less experienced , to have an instructional poster somewhere as to what exercises might be performed on it. Regardless, the downtown Y facility is one of my favorites in the country, and I regularly work out at more than 30 facilities nationwide.
Great variety! My family and I have been members of the YMCA for a few years now. My boys love going to the gym and having the different options available at the Y. I am very thankful I chose the Y as my exercise facility :)
The classes are great!
Brooke, the spin instructor I have been coming to see over the past few weeks is putting on an outstanding class with substance and energy. Also, the new spin space was given such a great face lift I can't wait to see what other upgrades are to come.

Fun and fitness with great people and facilities
I like there are lots of group classes of all kinds and at lots of times. There is something for everyone.
convenience to work and Tina's bodypump class on Monday's and Wednesday's at 11:45.
Lium was great with the kids, and they learned a lot. Small class size was fantastic.
We are sold on your personal training. After various fitness memberships and trainers in Fort Worth, we were surprised to find that the best was just around the corner at the Downtown YMCA. Erik Anderson is an unbelievable trainer and has us reaching levels we never thought possible. Not only does he himself set the example for how to strive to a healthier lifestyle (of course he is an overachiever) but he encourages and yes, insists, that we do the same. Erik is a goldmine and we are blessed that the YMCA has someone this talented!
In addition we find the entire staff at our Y outstanding. From the moment we enter the building, everyone is friendly and helpful. Congratulations!
Downtown location is great. Parking almost always avaliable. Facilities good and well maintained. Staff is friendly and always ready to lend assistance when needed.
POOL IS AWSOME!

they are fun and I am able to make friends. The best thing is I lose weight and gets me out of my house and get fresh air
Friendliness of the staff. Availability of the pool. (Not often crowded). Just the SPIRIT of the place!
Great classes, staff and facilities.
I love the different options and have had some excellent instructors! There are some classes that are only offered during the day that I would love to take in the evening, like barre and some water aerobics.

Hours of operation are very important to me. I like the weekend hours and the peri-holiday hours. I mostly use the pool, but sometimes weights and pool around holidays. I like the ability to visit “the Y” in other cities and states. I’ve been a member at this branch for 29 years. Although the staff changes over time, the culture of friendliness seems to persist.
