Guest Testimonials
We've been coming to Alma Cocina for years because we love the authentic Mexican cuisine and the excellent service. But the meal last night was the best ever! I never thought I could order both huitlacoche and chiles en nogada at a restaurant in Atlanta. It was like being in Mexico!
Everything we ordered, from food to cocktails to wine, was impeccable, quick and thoroughly enjoyed.
I loved eating at the bar -- good food , good service and for lunch I needed it quick and it was !!!
I've been to Alma Cocina several times and I'm never disappointed. Delicious food. Menu changes periodically so always something new to try. Great service, whether I sit at a table or at the bar.
The ambience is Alma Cocina is impeccable and the service is always first class. We have yet to have any dish that was not perfectly out together and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.
Great food and excellent service
value, nice employees, GREAT food
Great food and service
The service was outstanding ! The food was excellent and exquisite.
We go fairly often for happy hour since it is downstairs from the office and the bar staff is very friendly and attentive. Great service! Great happy hour! Caring people.
Love the fried cheese in salsa verde
Great service! The sever took the time to go over every vegetarian option on the menu. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was low key, but still nice. Definitely recommend.
Original food choices, great service, awesome drinks
It feels like home each time we visit. Jason and the staff always deliver a great dining experience!
Everything! The staff is well trained, exceedingly knowledgable and friendly, and the aesthetic is great! Most importantly the food is amazing, and Beth leads the team with grace!
Your cuisine is innovative and over the top delicious.
My daughter and I enjoyed dinner there and loved it so much, we returned the next day for a lovely lunch!
The servers were most warm, welcoming and competent and the decor is tastefully done.
We'll return this summer for the Gift Show at the Mart and our first stop will be to Alma Cocina!
Very good food. Reasonable prices.
Once again Alma Cucina met our expectations. We were pleased with changes to the menu and tried something new.
I work in the building, so I would definitely recommend Alma to anyone. I eat here roughly once a week. Its a great lunch option when you want a little splurge. Food is great, easy menu, wide variety of options, good service. However...
Issues:
1) Consistency; because I eat here so frequently, its an issue. Every time I order the chicken chilaquiles, the dish is different. One time they served the chips separately. I liked it. Now they refuse to. 80% of the time, there's no cilantro/garnish on the dish. Sometimes the cheese comes separately, sometimes not at all. Once it didn't have chicken.
2) "Rewards card"; Having eaten here roughly once a week for over 2 yrs, I'm no closer to actually receiving any rewards. And the birthday $25 is only good during the birthday month (something I just learned by being told it had expired)? At least make that policy clear.
3) Menu items; Removal of little gem salad was a bad decision. And the old shrimp tacos were better.
4) Cost; this food is good. But not THAT good. Everything is about $2-$3 more expensive than it should be. A cabbage salad with chicken I ordered this week was literally $20. $10 guac at lunch?
Love sitting in the 191 lobby watching the world go by and enjoying great food. The avocado taco was superb. I also like your happy hour specials.
The new menu with seasonal apps especially guacamole is exceptional. I always thought the restaurant's aversion to Tex-Mex left some diners out. But the Street Tacos are not Tex-Mex in the strict sense, but the great choices of imaginative flavors delivered in a tortilla are creative but don't alienate those who will sneak into a Taco Bell for a fix and are looking for something that at least looks like what they know.
Alma has always had a creative and skilled kitchen but the new "anchoring" in the familiar puts it on my frequent lunch list.
Thanks
Great service by Ricky!
Adam was a very friendly server. The food is always good here. I was a bit surprised at how expensive the entrees were though. The tacos and small plates are fairly priced, but the entrees are pretty richly priced for Atlanta and a Mexican place.
I think it is is great that you have draft beer, and a nice assortment of Bottles, Tequila and Rum. I thought your classic Margarita was pretty basic though.
I am also not a fan of paying for chips and salsa, even though the friend plantain strips are good and warrant an upcharge.
Overall, I am not going to lie, Alma is likely the coolest place downtown. I am a long time Hawks Season ticket holder and when I started going to your spot last year, it truly felt like a cool space (finally) in Downtown.
I have been meaning to tell my friend Anca, the new GM of Mortons about your space. I am sure she will appreciate it too.
Good food, quick and nice service
Alma Cocina is my "go-to" restaurant when in Atlanta for business. The food is always delicious and attractive. My only regret is that it is not located in my hometown.
Wonderful ambiance, terrific people, and outstanding food! Alma has no equal in all of downtown Atlanta. thank you!
Love that favorites stay on the menu but the setup changes with the seasons. Service is always friendly and knowlegable. We love fifth group!
