It’s clean and welcoming
Love the outdoor pool for lap swimming esp the option to use it in the winter with the bubble. I drive way out of my way past several other Y pools and other options to use PCYs pool.
Love the fitness, cleanliness, aquatic facilities, kids zone, staff, and Silver Sneakers. Most of the staff present as professional, WELCOMING, and looking out for the welfare of members.
However, had one recent problem, June 2021, with young female lifeguard whose first name starts with an "A." In my opinion she was impertinent, condescending in tone of voice and demeanor, supercilious, and had very poor oral and nonverbal communication skills, and she SHOULD NOT be on the check-in desk.
My grandsons had misplaced their green swim level cards. It was inferred that there would be no retesting, and even if there was testing they only would give out red bands. Because "we want people to take more responsibil
It was mostly the WAY she communicated. At 75 years of age, I feel she interacted with my like I was a bad child, that needed there hands slapped!!!
The water aerobics and pool
I joined recently online in a couples membership with my husband. It was a birthday gift to him and he is thrilled with it. We stopped by on Friday to look around. I recently had serious surgery, so I am not ready to do more than lounge around at poolside. The receptionist (Kathy?) was very warm and friendly, and there was a guy named Rick who volunteered to show us everything and answer our questions. We met other members during the tour, and everyone gave us a positive vibe. I was impressed that the many children were well-supervised and well-behaved. I look forward to being more involved, once my body has healed.

I love the lap lanes in the the outdoor pool. I just don't like to have to schedule in advance to use them. My schedule is often fluid and I need flexibility.
