Super pumped about my new bike from Western Cycles! Luke was great and made sure that my bike was sized correctly and was awesome to work with. It had been a while since I had been to Western Cycles and was happy to return.
Hunter was a great help yesterday when I came it to get info on a new bike. I'm not much of a bike guy but he made me feel welcome and patiently explained the features of various bikes even though he probably knew I wouldn't be purchasing a high end bike. In the end I decided to buy a bike and I feel very good about my purchase. And my son is very excited to have someone to ride with him again.
Good service and was very happy they were able to get the bike ready so that we could take it with us the same day.
I think we would have benefitted from an explanation of the features of
the bike. I’m sure if we had asked they would have obliged. We just didn’t think about it because my grandson was so excited about the bike.
I’ve purchased several bikes over the years at Western for my children, grandchildren and my husband. It’s a great bike shop with a good selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff and competitive pricing.
I Have a disdain for purchasing things, anything that quickly becomes defective. Bike parts, accessories is essential to my every day commute to work. As a senior citizen at 75 years old and still working a full time job, this Is also about my safety in daily bike travel. I,m very much satisfied that the staff at Western cycle exchanged a defective LED bike light purchased several months ago. I work a night shift, so that is all the more that I was taken care of.
It is bad enough we live In a society that corporate greed runs rampant in the automotive industry with more and more and more predatory engineering being incorporated in the new car buying cult in America. I will be writing a book some day about the car industry making people buy new cars that are no longer a money pit, but now are a credit card debit pit. That is why I try to be car free as much as possible, or even car lite. I like to be free from that economic slavery as I can
Above all we as bike riders should think intermodally, that is long distances by train/bus/subway etc should be paired together with bike riding with bikes
on board such mass transportation conveyances. And yes an electrified green running train line can co-exist with bike paths, with proper boundaries and protections. Plus electrical charging on board such intermodal conveyances for people with e-bikes. Note getting out of down town Boston and getting up to the north shore is almost impractical without being intermodal to publc transit, due to limited access highways bridges and tunnels . I,ve been a bike commuter going through down town Boston since 1994. As of last year I took a different position in Somerville mass with my employer MBTA/KEOLIS COMMUTER RAIL SERVICES. yet i still need a bike at that facilty for short errands to specialty food venues.
Please expand your stores to Peabody and Salem mass.
