The people there are really nice and helped me through the process of switching from a road bike to an e-bike. The only suggestion I have is a better orientation for those buying their first e-bike. I am think along the lines of what an auto dealer does when people buy a new car.
For instance I scanned the manual and worked with the app and display on my Specialized Turbo Vado. I set the the app to imperial vs metric but the bike display still read metric. I figured out that the display had to be set separately. (You may want to have as part of the assembly/prep setting the bike to imperial) Another surprise which may be unique to me was that in switching from a road bike to e-bike I did not know that the tire valve was Schrader instead of Presta and that my old pump was not compatible. I cam back to buy a new pump and CO2 attachment.
So a short briefing or possibly occasional class about using and maintaining a new e-bike would be helpful and possibly provide new sales opportunities.
bottom line is RBM is my go to shop. Thanks
Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable! The Service Department is exceptional. They evaluated my bike and gave price quotes for the various services needed. They listened to what I wanted to accomplish, and the type of riding I intended to do. They looked up and made suggestions for special order parts that I would need. I am very happy with the outcome.
I had my bike tuned-up at the Richardson Bike Mart. I had not ridden it in some years but, when I got it back from being serviced, it was like new. I am anxious to start riding it again. I also had them switch out my gear shifter and it works like a dream. Excellent service!
PART 1: I have been working with Joe Howard for several years now. Recently, I was interested in a used Trek Domane. Joe doesn't try to push a bike on you. He had me test ride the bike and adjusted components on the bike including seat adjustment, handlebar adjustment, and even rearranged spacers on the stem. Joe's knowledge is unparalleled. He is not satisfied with mediocrity. He gives you his full attention as if he owned Richardson Bike Mart!
PART 2: I decided against purchasing the above bike and Joe led me to the Parts/Service department. I linked up with Dylan who was excellent! Dylan has a good working knowledge with parts and will steer you in the right direction and he won't try to oversell you. He took the time to thoroughly explain all of his actions and made sure I was overly satisfied with my purchase. (I purchased a new crank and handlebars for my Specialized Roubaix.)
My experience with RBM the past several years has been very satisfying. To be honest, I dealt with RBM for decades and early on, my encounters with sales personnel were horrible. RBM has taken a 180 degree turn and seeks nothing but customer satisfaction. RBM has been my bicycle store of choice and it's such a pleasant experience each and every time I go in the store for service.
Keep up the great work!
Best,
fk
So many positive thoughts about Bike Mart. But I managed to boil everything down to one word.
Consistency.
Whether it’s service/repairs, knowledge of the many, many products, etc… everyone is a pro with loads of experience - and each employee is enthusiastic and happy to serve their clients one-on-one.
Comprehensive products and the sale personnel are very knowledgeable. I bought a bike light, reconsidered and brought it back. I got my refund and talked with other options to a sales person. I bought a different one, took it home, reconsidered again, and brought it back to the store to buy the first one I bought. It was kinda crazy but now, having talked it out, am happy with the bike light I ended up with.
