Nice friendly atmosphere
The Swim Center is great. Terrific staff. Nice big pool. I love the place. And I would absolutely recommend it to other folks.
There are a few potential improvements that would be nice to see.
Longer hours: Other Y's have longer hours. The swim center used to have them. It's hard for working adults to fit exercise in and cutting the hours makes it even more challenging. And when a number of lanes get used in the evenings for water exercise and swim lessons it's even more difficult to fit in your swim time.
Cleaning staff during open hours: Other Ys have folks who clean the locker rooms during the day. At the swim center, there isn't anyone cleaning during the day so the locker rooms are often pretty gross by the evening hours.
A few of the bonus features you see at other Y's would be nice: Thing like a lounge area with TVs, snack area, fireplace, more than one suit spinner and INSIDE the locker rooms (surprising that there's only one for a facility that is ONLY a pool), etc.
And a pipe dream improvement would be stairs in the shallow end on one side. It is a super difficult pool for handicapped folks or the elderly to use. It would be so much more user friendly with a set of stairs.

Great swim coach. Wonderful lessons. Much prefer the hour long lessons. 30 min sessions would be a waste of time and money.
I enjoy swimming. I like the Dundalk YMCA because it is a very clean facility and I can enjoy myself with no interruptions. And I have had a chance to meet some very nice people. I think that everyone should get a chance to enjoy the YMCA. I would like to add that I wish that the water could be a little warmer like Towson is, other than that everything else is fine. The staff is amazing
The classes are fun and the people and instructors are friendly too.
The Y experience, the Dundalk Aquatic Center, is "clean and friendly." Staff and facilities are terrific. However, the pool should be cooler, more like 80 degrees than a constant 83. For the majority of lap swimmers, it's too warm....
This is a great pool. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the shower area in the women's bathroom smelled heavily of urine.
