(First part)
My Experience with the Y Head Start Program
Joining the Y Head Start program last year was one of the best decisions I have made for my children. I am grateful for the dedicated teachers and staff who have made our experience so positive and rewarding.
When we first joined, my son had Miss Aminata and Miss Jamiara, and they were absolutely amazing. They set the bar high and will always be my superstar teachers! Their care, encouragement, and dedication made a lasting impression on our family and helped establish a wonderful foundation for my son.
This year, my daughter is in Early Head Start with Ashley and Dennis, while my son is in Head Start with Miss Sharae and Miss Tashae. All four teachers have been wonderful, and I appreciate the role each plays in my children's growth and development.
The Early Head Start teachers have been especially helpful throughout my motherhood journey. Beyond caring for my daughter, they share their experiences, offer advice, and help me navigate the different stages of her development. My daughter has eczema, and they have shared products and experiences that have helped me explore ways to care for her skin. Their willingness to share what they know has made me feel supported as a mother.
They also keep me informed about my daughter's milestones. One moment that stands out is when they noticed how eager she was to walk. They encouraged me to get her shoes and help her practice because they could see she was ready for the next step. As a parent, it means so much to know that her teachers’ pay attention to her individual needs and celebrate her progress. Their encouragement gives me confidence as I support her development at home.
My son's Head Start teachers, Miss Sharae and Miss Tashae, are equally wonderful. They create a welcoming and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and feel included. I appreciate the energy they bring to their classrooms and the care they show the children each day.
The Y offers a great family support and a well established communication of child's progress.

My favorite part of our experience at the Y has been watching my daughter learn, grow, and blossom socially. It’s been such a joy to see her develop new skills, gain confidence, and build meaningful connections.
The center truly embodies the meaning of a village. The teachers are wonderful, the staff is amazing, and you can genuinely feel the care and dedication that go into creating a positive environment for the children and their families.
A special shout-out to Miss Monica, who is truly the glue that holds everything together! She does an incredible job managing the center and keeping everything running smoothly. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to the children and families do not go unnoticed.
I’m grateful that my daughter gets to be part of a center where she is not only learning academically but also growing socially and emotionally. It takes a special team to create an environment where children can thrive and families feel supported, and the Y has done just that for us. Thank you to the entire team for everything you do! ❤️
Teachers are great. My pre schooler is learning to count
We absolutely love our local YMCA! ❤️ Ms. Andrea and all the other care providers have been incredibly kind and caring toward my daughter, and she always comes home talking about them. Everyone has been equally wonderful with my son, too!

Very caring and patient with the children
We absolutely adore the Y in Randallstown program. While we’re not overly thrilled with the food choices, we’re incredibly fond of Mrs. Amanta and Mrs. Shannon. They’re both incredibly welcoming and personable. Mrs. Rochelle is also very friendly and approachable.
I love 💗 that there is good hands on help with the kids. I also love the learning program and the things we can do together as a family at the Y.
The open communication
I like that you have didn’t things to do especially taken the opportunity to have a night out with you and your spouse and they watch your child . Also it is a lot to do .
They got my daughter starting school very quickly they was fast and efficient, everyone is very friendly they communicate well and my daughter is already happy there
I love that my toddler learns and play. Im grateful for the introduction to early learning so that they are prepared for further education. The hours are a plus. 830am -330pm just like regular school will make the transition seamless. Thanks to the educators at Fleming headstart.

How personal and involved they arr with the kids and parents. I pray my 3 yr old gets accepted so both kids can attend.

(Second part) My Experience with the Y Head Start Program
There is also someone who works in one of the classrooms whom we affectionately call our “hallway friend.” Although she is not my daughter's classroom teacher, my daughter absolutely loves her! Whenever she sees us arriving, she comes over to greet us, hug my daughter, and hold her. What touches me most is how naturally my daughter responds to her. The comfort and affection she shows make me feel that she knows her, trusts her, and feels safe around her. This connection is a beautiful example of how the Y's welcoming environment allows children to build meaningful relationships with staff members throughout the program.
I would give the entire staff an A+! I have also had the pleasure of getting to know Miss Mary, whose kindness, humility, and approachability have made a lasting impression on me. During meetings, I would see her serving families, making sure everyone was comfortable, asking about their needs, and welcoming feedback. She has a way of making people feel valued and respected, regardless of her position. One memory that will always stay with me is when I was pregnant and attending meetings. Miss Mary would make sure I had something to eat, sometimes even preparing my plate and bringing me water. Those thoughtful gestures meant a great deal to me. They showed genuine compassion and a willingness to go above and beyond to make families feel cared for. My appreciation for Miss Mary grew even more when I was participating in the home-based program and encountered some challenges. She reached out to me, provided her work phone number, and assured me that she would take it from there. Since then, whenever I call or text her, she makes an effort to respond, listen to my concerns, understand my needs, and help identify appropriate solutions. She follows through and makes me feel that my concerns matter. Having someone who is accessible and committed to helping families is invaluable.
