It is a safe place for my kids to go work out and see their friends.
The class schedule accommodates those who work. Although I do wish there were more options for gentle yoga or yen yoga in the evenings - after 7pm.
I like that you have expanded the classes to include more basic training and high intensity classes. The instructors are great. You may need to expand the # of classes due to the high volume of people signing up. Nice job continuing to how and expand.
Love the wide variety of classes offered. Something for everyone.
Classes
Everyone at the NE Cobb Y is amazing. Misty is doing an incredible job.
The teachers are good at explaining what should be done.
I only do Pilates and Yoga.
I DO NOT like that I have to carry a piece of paper or my phone to the different machines therefore I stopped using them.
This is a TERRIBLE way to encourage people to exercise.
So - I guess I should have given you an 8 instead of a 10.
There must be something you can do to improve this.
Very flexible
Variety of group classes. Facilities for kids to practice their sports: baseball, basketball, etc.
The programs and classes at the YMCA are both challenging and flexible at the same time. There is really something for everyone and the instructors are so good about giving alternatives to fit somebody's needs. The new Y Fit and Basic Training classes are fantastic. The variety each week help me cross train with cardio and strength. It is a perfect compliment to the days that I do high cardio in spin or run. I am so thankful that the Y keeps adding new types of classes so that we never get bored.
I also really appreciate and love that the YMCA offers a run club. This program really helped motivate me to run, not just 1, but 7 half marathons when I never thought I could even run a 5k!
In addition to the great workout, I also love the people at the Y. The staff and instructors are always welcoming. It truly is a community and not just a place to work out!
the varity
Great class options, good range of equipment, volleyball league, and other social/community programs. I wouldn't want to be a member of a standard health club when the Y is a whole lot more.
Tara for TRX is amazing!
The instructors are the best around. They offer classes in a very wide variety and the times are good. The staff is also very friendly.
Great place to r exercise.
The workout classes being offered at 6:00am
I like that the whole family can exercise at the same time.
Good mix of different exercise classes! Great instructors too!
Would love to have Barre classes for a working parent schedule (evening or early morning)!
I love the kids programs like the Zumba that was offered, GREAT IDEA!!
Absolutely love our Y!
Excellent classes, instructors and affordable!
My son can go and lift weights, play basketball, hang out with friends in a safe environment.
The YMCA is not only a place to work out, but a caring community of people. The Northeast Cobb Family YMCA does a great job of making you feel welcomed each time you visit. The
outreach programs they provide throughout the year, from the school break feeding program
to the collection of diapers, among other, allow all members to lend a helping hand to those who need it. Truly an organization that demonstrates what being a good neighbor really means!
Thank you!

Like friendliness of employees.
Like sense of community.
Love my Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the early morning workout classes that are offered. Fits my schedule perfectly
I love the workout classes that are offered at 6:00AM... my busy work schedule and kid schedule doesn’t allow me to go any other time of the day
There are s variety of classes and most of the instructors are a joy to work out with, even when the workouts are hard;)
I particularly like the strengthen and tone classes. I always go on Monday morning and try to make a couple more later in the week. I find that the comradery of a group makes the time pass quickly and the instructors do a good job of reminding people of correct positioning etc. to help patrons benefit most from the activity (and avoid injury). They make it fun as they encourage and practically cheer us on..... I also try to make it to pilates when possible, once again preferring the group and instructor cues. The instructors in all classes I attend try amazingly hard to please the people taking their classes, and the people in the classes are so varied!
A great thing for me is the fact this Y still has a couple of the older step machines, besides the new ones that force people to take large steps. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this Y for keeping these machines that allow different size stepping. Having had knee surgery a few times, these older machines do a great job strengthening the muscles around the knee and this provides stability (taking tiny steps and putting body weight on ball of foot, leaning in a bit). I've been told by doctor and therapist that it would be good if this could be my main cardio. I just know my knees don't hurt when I use these regularly.
A nice side benefit of these things is getting to know such interesting people. There are people from other countries, all ages, ability levels etc. We share information on many things and look out for each other.
Pickleball
Weight training
Yoga

This is a very well maintained and diverse facility. The staff is welcoming and friendly and encouraging.
