Enjoy group exercises for seniors
Swimming and other fitness activities
The Y has increased the number and types and timing of classes for Seniors. This is great!
I use the Y for health maintenance exercises. I am very pleased with the equipment available and that there is hardly ever a wait to use some apparatus. The workout space is always clean as is the ladies' lockerroom. Staff is welcoming and kind.
Staff and social ability of members 😄
Been a member since the late 80's.
It is an integral part of my health, which remains excellent as I approach 70.
Friendly folks, clean, welcoming environment and a vast array of options from swim, to fitness classes to weights, treadmills and resistance machines.
Oh, and community support activities like summer camps, soccer, youth basketball, etc.
I’m impressed with the selection and class times available for Seniors.
I only use the fitness equipment and the track.
Very good opening hours, friendly and helpful staff.
My daily swim.
Variety of activities for all ages and ability levels.
I love everything about the Y.

Love it all
Family oriented and financial assistance for those jot able to afford it
Instructors, plenty of classes available for Seniors.
Some members continue to join full classes
without registering.
Have been a member for a number of years. Have made great friends with other members. Classes and staff are great.
There are several best things about the Cowart Family Y
The first thing is the friendly greeting and smile you receive when you finally return after 2 years of pandemic seclusion. Check in desk, membership desk, everyone takes time for a greeting.
Next, the group classes. They have expanded the senior classes and ALL the instructors are very professional and make the classes as much fun as exercise can be. They make sure we are working hard but not getting hurt. They are all very caring. I have classes with Claire and Norma and have now added Teri and Shawnee.
Miki encourages everyone to try new classes and listens patiently to our concerns.
Before the pandemic the Y was a big social part of the senior community. Now it is exciting as we see friends that we haven't seen in 2 years.
Thank you, Y, for putting in a lot of effort to make this return possible.
I do mostly spin cycle class and utilize the weight room. Cowart is my main Ymca but I do visit Fowler every now and then and have nothing but good things to say about the instructors and the value that YMCA provides the local community. And the spin instructors particularly Christina and Claudia make you want to show up on the days you don’t want to and that makes all the difference.
I appreciate the coaches/personal trainers. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Facility is very clean
Barre, Pilates fusion classes
Good clean facilities
I like the online booking system for the swim lanes
I like that I can workout or go to a class. Anna's barre class is wonderful :)
The way you can schedule your lap swimming lane
Reserve lanes for pool
I like the free-weight area; it’s new and neat. You don’t have to wait to use equipment. My wife likes divider between the treadmills.
There are activities for children of all ages, the gym is always clean, and the staff is always kind.
Gym

I attend the 9 a.m. water aerobics and occasionally the weekend water aerobics and occasional use of other equipment. On a positive note: I am SO impressed with the trainers and number and quality of workout equipment. I think Cowart is doing a terrific job with "lunch and learn" programs and other special programs. Re: water aerobics the newest instructor, Sherill is fantastic! She brings energy and fun to the class and is increasing size of class by word of mouth! Please keep her on Tuesday and Thursday!!!! .
My main concern is having Shawnee as instructor Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the 9:00 a.m. class. She is a nice lady and always pleasant. However we need more variety and a better workout than having her three days a week. It would be great if we could have someone else at least one day a week. We have heard favorably about some of the water aerobics instructors at Buckhead and have some people going there instead of Cowart for that reason. I would like to request and encourage that this Y leadership look into more variety of water instructors. Thanks, Name removed (Email address removed)
