Huntington Learning Center has truly been a blessing to our son. After relocating here and then the pandemic, our son needed help with his academics. He has always been a very fluent reader but his comprehension was very weak. We noticed the deficiencies during his early years in elementary. His teachers in both public & private schools during the early years (1st thru 3rd grade) brushed off our concerns because he was so fluent. It really became an issue in 4th grade because he was then expected to "read to learn." There are a lot of children in the same situation as our son; and most of the time those kids slip through the system by struggling and often failing.
The pandemic hit and all schools went virtual in the spring of his 5th grade year. He really struggled with the multiple choice test and "reading to learn." We tried on our own to help but we were not able to reach him. I sought help at a different tutoring company (un-named). There was progress so we stopped at the beginning of his 6th grade year. We proceeded through 6th grade virtually due to concerns for COVID and it was struggle. We saw a commercial about Huntington and decided to give them a call. From that day forward, our son's grades have jumped by leaps & bounds. We no longer have to check his work. He answers his multiple choice questions correctly and reads with understanding. He returned to the brick & mortar classroom this year (9th grade). His grades are strong (A's & Bs with the exception of 2 (c's) but even those are high (C's)-- 1 point away from a B. I would be remissed to say that the only reason he earned a C is because he failed to turn in a few assignments. We have been at Huntington for ~ 2 1/2 years. Thank you Huntington for what you have done for our son!!
